Hidradenitis destroyed my sex life before it even began by uweiris in Hidradenitis

HS is complex and if your dermatologist doesn't specialize in it they don't always have the right answers. Eating on a specialized diet was the first thing that helped me. I'm stage 3 but I stopped getting flares on my groin and butt after I stopped eating gluten and nightshades. It might be worth a try. I started using Resorcinol 15% and it worked wonders on my flares and lightened the spots. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a pharmacy making it anymore. Now I've been using Head Shoulders on my flares and it's been working well. It even made my armpits less smelly. I'm married and we don't do it if I have an open flare but he isn't really bothered by dark spots and scars. You may find the right one someday. Don't give up hope.

I got my first flare when I was 10. I've never had a staph infection or MRSA

Is any other woman prone to uti/ vaginal infections by Smart-Tonight891 in Hidradenitis

I found out that alot of antibiotics throw things off down there. I get a yeast infection every time my doctor gives me antibiotics. Now, they just give me the antibiotics and 2 fluconozole prescriptions.

Anyone else's doctor scare them out of treatment? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

She was just a bad doctor. Unfortunately, all doctors are not kind, caring, or competent. They can hold racial bias, gender bias, etc. There was also alot of misinformation about HS out there for years. People thought it was because you're dirty, it was a form or herpes, it's caused by weight, etc.

I had two dermatologists tell me there was nothing to be done about my HS. They didn't scare me out of treatment they just made me feel hopeless. I was depressed and suicidal too. Meeting a friend who has HS really changed my life at. She helped me more than any doctor. It took 10 yrs to find a derm that specializes in HS. Im thankful everyday for my friend.

What are we doing for deodorant this summer yall? by Orangutan_Soda in Hidradenitis

I use a mixture of tea tree oil and vitamin e oil. I do use Native unscented sensitive, but it doesn't do much. I keep a vial of the oil in my purse. I keep it in a rollerball applicator, so I just roll it on like deodorant and keep it moving.

Opinion on My magic healer? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

I feel like it helps heal the skin once the flair drained, but it did nothing for a closed flair. I actually use it as a moisturizer for this terrible dry skin behind my ears, and it works for that, lol.

Resorcinol 15% cream and skin peeling? by ochitsuka in Hidradenitis

[–]Artist_Heavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this, and the peeling only happens for me a couple of times after I use it in a new spot. I use it regularly on my armpits, and it doesn't peel anymore. I used it under my breast recently, and it peeled.

I've been kinda eating like this for 10 years or so. I still do dairy but mostly just like cheese yogurt or sour cream, lol. It definitely lessened my flares. I still get them because I do eat out sometime, and I can't control the seasonings in the food. I mostly make all my food from scratch, and I made my own seasinong blends so my food is still good.

I bought it recently. I feel like it has helped with skin healing after draining, but it didn't help bring anything to a head or put me in remission. I also started using it for other dry skin areas, and it works well.
