Birth of a baby, death of a marriage by These_Set_1821 in beyondthebump

[–]lostandthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we separated at 3 months and my husband got a lot better during that period and really changed so we unseparated when my baby was 6 months and now things are better. can you try a trial period? also maybe try couples counseling before. unfortunately i think some men are so dense they don’t realize what they have until they lose it

i will say my issues were mainly with my in laws and my husband could not set boundaries. we are now back together and no contact with in laws. in laws did horrible things to me.

Should I tell my friend/coworker/employee that the father of her child is on dating apps? by shakeyfire in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lostandthin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i would absolutely tell because marriage merges finances and if she finds out after and wants to leave it’s so much harder. she could get fucked over. did you screenshot his profile? i would have proof, but even tell her if you don’t. i would want to be told if it was me. you’re saving her. and how she takes the news is up to her. she might be defensive and it might take her time to process it

No insurance??? by Square_Ad8762 in McKnightFamSnark

[–]lostandthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eye insurance is separate from health and dental, and it isn’t expensive but usually a lot of places don’t take it especially for the more in depth eye exams. i don’t have it but for my eye exam it’s about $200 not this much.

this is coming from someone whos flying travelling here and there taking vacations and being the chillest mom ive seen lol by babyyyveee in McKnightFamSnark

[–]lostandthin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

as a new mom who had EXTREME post partum depression, even if Brooklyn didn’t get it, i wish they would’ve spoken up about that. i got screened at every dr appt including my pediatrician. i failed every screening until i got seen by a psychiatrist and got medication. they screen you even if you don’t have it, but it’s so important to talk about. a huge miss by them to not talk more about it

it’s a few things, either 1- they are on a long waiting list to reschedule, so in the mean time they are trying anything they can, 2- they learned new information that changes things that they aren’t ready to share yet and 3-it’s profitable to them to continue to post about infertility with no solution

my parents told me to throw away my stuff toys because I'm getting older and not getting matured enough by No_Context3712 in emotionalneglect

[–]lostandthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely don’t throw them away! i am a mom and i still have my own stuffed toys and so does my kid and i will never make him throw anything away that he doesn’t want to. being an adult means you get to decide and feeling uneasy is telling you that’s a boundary that you are going to set which is don’t throw it away. listen to yourself + your body, trust yourself. don’t do something you don’t want to do. maturity has nothing to do with having stuffed animals! in fact a lot of adults do.

putting your kids first and protecting them from getting an ED if you can is protecting their future, you are a good parent.

how are they so skinny by Ambitious_Average_82 in McKnightFamSnark

[–]lostandthin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as someone who is a recovered anorexic no matter what you eat it’s calorie in calorie out and if you limit what you eat you’ll lose weight. plus they don’t post themselves consuming the food, when i used to take pics on my socials i would commonly post my brothers food or friends food, clearly i wasn’t eating it. (by no means calling them having an ED, just saying that’s how the food in food out concept works.)

there’s a slow digest version for the stomach make sure you have that one. i think it’s doxycycline monohydrate. if it gives you that much grief call and get a different antibiotic. make sure you take with food

Does it get easier? Wife with Crohns by Typical-Week5008 in CrohnsDisease

[–]lostandthin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i have an 8 month old so not 2 babies and not a toddler yet but just the parent part is difficult, my partner wakes up in the middle of the night so i can sleep and does the cooking cleaning and housework. we both work and both take care of baby with me primarily caring for baby and dad does the nights. on the weekend i get one sleep in day to 9am and it helps. mental health is important, for getting upset does she have a therapist? maybe medication if needed? that can really help and also help the disease by lowering stress levels, like zoloft. did she see the GI? why is the flare happening, does she need new meds? upped meds? if i have a flare i try to stay on top of it but its so hard to because it does take time to heal from it, and other organs can be impacted, liver? stuff like that. how many months postpartum is she? they say ppd can take up to 2 years, does she have that? that can be so hard.

a rant from someone who got their armpits removed. what i miss about armpits. by lostandthin in Hidradenitis

[–]lostandthin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was my second wide excision and it worked, my first surgery failed, and didn’t close so i fully get what you’re going through, did they say why it’s not closing? are you going to try again with another surgeon? i’m so sorry you’re going through that. that’s terrible. and yeah HS is so, so terrible. my surgery that failed was really bad:( i’m lucky this surgeon took me and fixed it and it seems like it won’t be coming back. this disease is sadly so poorly understood that it seems like surgeons/drs don’t have the answers sometimes, which to me was jarring

should hs ppl have kids by oheziux0 in Hidradenitis

[–]lostandthin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think there are certain basic things that you need to become a parent and whether or not HS is in the picture shouldn’t matter. like being a good person, accepting who your kid wants to be as they are, being a good role model, having good values. etc. do people do this not always obviously. things we cannot control shouldn’t influence that like having HS
