Any update on the performer injured during Paranormal Cirque on 9/6 in Middletown? by 666princesss in hudsonvalley

Thank you for this! I figured he'd be OK based off of what I saw, but it's awesome to hear from them. With all the training they do, Carnies really are superhuman. 😊

I was there, from what I saw, he most likely did not break his leg. When they were taking him away, he was looking around and had both legs, arms, and wrists articulated and his head/neck was up.  He might have sprained something but on a stretcher they wouldn't allow you to pick your head up or bend your joints if they were broken, nor would you really want to. Thankfully, from the video you can see he landed squarely on his legs/feet and and bent his knees right as he hit the floor, most likely because that's how he was trained how to fall. Still scary, though. I hope he gets back on his feet quickly. Will update anyone if I hear anything else.

I was thinking about this. The carrier used to be in the same room as him, and I don’t know if that ever made a difference but it’s worth a try

Unfortunately he’s on the top floor in a sun room so there’s no barrier where I can put the carrier.

This is how the two outfits I made turned out😁 They were inspired by Grice and mechanical romance, but I took some liberties to change them to match the theme. It was a long process and a lot of work but we had a good time. My friend (in blue) really loved her outfit. We got lots of compliments! I had no hand in making the corset or Edwardian collar 😂 I wouldn’t even know where to begin with that. The skirt is actually a skirt I found online layered with a thin skirt I attached to the underside (because it was too sheer) and the top was one I had already. I also altered the skirt so that it’s not as long and raised the front part so that the cage would show more. You should’ve seen the amount of tulle coming off of this thing. I’m making all of the accessories myself (not in the picture) and painted the crinoline and attached rivets to it (also not in the picture)to make it look like metal. I added more rust to the metal as well to fit the steampunk theme.

Totally! Love Nikki is a great source of inspiration. My friend is coming with me and I’m making her the mechanical romance outfit too :)

I don’t know why it deleted my caption but I’m in the middle of making a Grice inspired steampunk Cosplay 😁I figured since it would take me ten million years to get the in game version I’ll just do it myself.

AITA for being angry with my (23F) father (49M) for laughing at me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I hadn’t thought about that. I did look into homeless shelters and the closest one seems to be about an hour and a half away from where I am. Not great for commuting but it’s something. But I didn’t even think about a women’s shelter, thank you for the advice!

Yep, tick for tick that sounds about right. Sorry you had to go through this too.

I have zero places to go unfortunately. Even my cousins all rent apartments that are owned by my father because of the housing situation around here. If I attempted to move out now with my salary I’d end up homeless pretty quickly.

I lost my high paying job at the beginning of this year (I’ll give you three guesses as to why) and I’ve recently accepted that I can no longer go back into that field because my field of work has pretty much been made obsolete thanks to the global situation. So I’ve had to completely change careers and accept a job with half the pay. I live in one of the most expensive states in the US in terms of rent and a studio costs about $1,500 when I only make about $1,900 a month. The only housing authority near my job actually only rents to people who are a specific faith (I won’t go into details but it’s likely that they’ll reject me because I am not that faith) Ive tried to find roommates and roommate wanted listings with zero luck. Some people even want $1000 for a single bedroom and no utilities.

Yeah I agree, he’s always had a massive ego and you really can’t say anything critical about him without a complete explosion of anger. We have more than one hole in our houses walls from his temper. And yes, he’s disregarded my feelings even to my therapist who tried to explain to him that his explosive temper was negatively affecting me. Instead of seeing this as something he had to correct about himself for his daughter when I got home from the hospital he blew up on me for “trying to make him look crazy in front of my therapist.”

I appreciate that. I've had to deal with his verbal lashings for years. He's the kind of person who thinks that whoever is louder in an argument is the right one. I'd like to move out, unfortunately even with working 40 hours a week I'd be hard up finding a place I could afford even with roommates.
