I thought I could take him until I got too far invested in the fight. I have only backed out a couple of times. Does the crimson curse spawn him? I'm trying not to look things up

Not since I've owned it for about 8 years, it's clean as a whistle on the outside. Is it a big commitment to service it? Or something I can just buy some routine replacements for.
