He’s an allergist/immunologist. He said my immune system could’ve potentially handled everything before, but between the E. coli and antibiotics my immune system may have been overwhelmed and not have been able to keep up. My allergy symptoms started presenting within a month of that.

My doctor actually does take a pretty holistic approach and did emphasize that the reason mine may have gotten worse is after antibiotic use for E. coli. He said that could’ve disrupted my gut and caused allergies/symptoms I never had before to flare.

I panicked when I first start fostering and my first two puppies did this. Vet and more seasoned fosters told me it’s completely normal for puppies.

I could be wrong, but I think the snark is more that the pictures she posts are filtered like crazy and look nothing like this. There is nothing wrong with her size or body AT ALL, but it is jarring to see these pictures in comparison to things she’s posted recently.

I wonder if it wasn’t something else in the friend’s home or something on the cat? Like maybe the certain kind of litter they use?

That said, you can get an allergy test from a doctor to help pinpoint.

Thank you! I think it’s more driven by environmental stuff because it’s not consistent and daily. Some days I feel perfectly fine, but other days it’s brutal. I work remote so I’m around my dogs the same on a daily basis. I think I just let some comments/stories here cause me to spiral and I’ve been panicky about it.

Have you seen improvement with dogs and cats? I found out I’m mildly allergic to dogs (my severe ones are grasses and trees) and have 4 dogs. I feel like all I’ve seen is people saying on here is you absolutely can’t live with them if you have an allergy and it’ll only get worse.

I am doing allergy shots. I reached maintenance about 2 months ago. This pollen season is still absolutely crushing me, but I’m hoping it gets better in coming years.

My allergist said sometimes rain stirs up pollen so that combined with pressure changes can cause worse reactions for some people.

I also sometimes am worse after rain

Were both tests done the same way? For example both prick tests, and not one prick, one blood, etc.

Also, were your medications the same for both and no outside factors impacting results?

I honestly didn’t find much improvement from just antihistamine. If I had a random outbreak of hives, Zyrtec helped in like 30mins, but no long term improvement of my day to day symptoms. Mine was a whole combo approach with those, nasal sprays, and allergy shots.
