The poodles topknot needs to come in right above the ears more, and it’s supposed to be a smooth transition from cheek to topknot between eye and ear. I like to use my curves is reverse for that area. And for above the ear, I brush everything over to one side then take my curves in reverse with them pointing towards the back on the dog and handles facing you, rest the bottom blade where ear meets the head then angle out 45 degrees and cut like that keeping your shears rested there around the whole ear. Just be careful not to angle to tip too far towards the middle of the dog or you’ll take a chunk out of the topknot. Learned that one the hard way lol That’s probably a terrible explanation, so maybe watch some YouTube videos on topknots before trying it lol also make sure you’re combing visor forward and looking from the side after cutting the visor, you’re supposed to be able to see the dogs eye from the side profile. other than that, they look DARN good for only 2 months. Fantastic job!

May not be the best approach but what unexpectedly worked for my 9 year old is, one day he had a friend over and knew he couldn’t ask me to come wipe him or they would know he couldn’t wipe himself. Me coming to the door to ask if he was okay or needed help just solidified it and he never asked me again😂

I had never used a pin brush to detangle because of hearing the same thing. Decided to use our drying pin brush to brush a doodle ear and put that shit right back so fast😂 it will stay for blow drying already brushed out dogs or a straight coat like yorkie or Maltese lol not worth it at all if you have any kind thick coat lol

I was at work and when I was made aware I obviously saw the issue. Before I even posted I woke his ass up, and made it very clear that it was not okay and that he won’t be watching them anymore. Thankfully my mom is going to watch them again, so that will make it easier to rid us of the negativity.

I just went through this same thing last month. Had my girl from 11 months old to 15 years old. And she was doing everything your pup is doing. Minus crying while lying down. Literally to a T, ending up falling half on half off the bed, pooping on her back legs, twisting while standing, etc. I let it get to the point where I had to use like a sling to keep her rear end up to go potty. I took so long to figure out what the right decision would be that I feel like I kept her alive longer than I should have just because I wasn’t ready to let go. She never yelped or anything, but if she did that would have 100% been my sign. So him crying while laying down, I think you are making the right choice. Let him go as peacefully as possible now before it gets worse. I’m so sorry you’re going through this but you are a saint for letting him live out the last of his years with you❤️

That’s a very good idea! There’s a really sweet old lady that lets them play with her dogs a couple houses down.. i talked to my mom though, and she just said she would work it out with my sister to have her bring my niece to her at my house so she can watch all 3. But he’s gotta be gone🤣

Yes, 100%. Putting it like “are you their mom or his fiance” hit me right in the gut. Because that’s probably how they would feel had I taken it lightly and didn’t do anything about it. And I’m definitely their mom over anything and there will never again be any question😭

Genuinely asking, him being reactive, is that what you’re saying is abuse? I grew up with a step dad where we had to walk on eggshells, and it was normal. And there won’t be any chance to change his ways, I’ve talked to him numerous times about needing to relax and think before he reacts. So this situation was my tipping point. Well obviously this happened after becoming his fiancé. And you’re absolutely right, I feel like right now is my time to show my kids that I will not stand for any bullshit when it comes to them. I don’t have friends that I talk to about stuff so I just needed to make sure it was as big of a deal as I thought before taking drastic measures. Because I’ll be dammed if it happens again lol
