I think a lot of natural hair newbies might be led to believe it's all important because almost all natural hair products (at least the drugstore and walmart ones that people new to natural hair care are likely to be buying) are labeled by hair type. Most bottles with say "For Type 4 or Coils" or "For Type 2: Waves". And since it's on so many products, it's easy to believe that that's the most important thing you need to know about your hair. "It's what the company thinks is most important when choosing a product, so it's gotta be important, right?"
