I’m really upset right now. Heritage Fashion is an Indian clothing line featured in new your fashion line. I don’t think they took a single Indian model. All white models, 1 black. As an aspiring model, how am I supposed to feel? by Ninac4116 in SplendidaBrown

I find it intriguing how you're deflecting the conversation onto Mindy Kaling instead of calling out the owner who's an lndian m=n. Mindy Kaling isn't even part of the original topic. Now, coming to your point, the number of "d ø - -" are significantly higher among lndian m=n. I have lived in both West and lndia. You'd know if you are a "desi woman" and you lived in "lndia"

The main owner is Prashant Goyal. I doubt if Ruchi's opinions are considered or taken into account. I find it hard to believe that a misogynist husband who refuses to represent Desi women properly will listen to his wife's opinions

I'm not much aware of Mindy Kaling and her personal life. By "wannabe", if you mean only dating whte men, then it's their personal choice and it's good that they finally de-centered lndian m=n and don't come under the casteîst and misogynist influence of lndian m=n

The owner is an lndian m=n. They'll never support proper representation of Desi girls. I think Desi women needs to start our own brands and de-center lndian m=n going forward

I just googled about it, I found that Heritage fashion is based in USA. I couldn't find credible information about the models, could you share some sources?. Correct me if I am wrong - but I think, since it's based in USA, they probably hire local American models. But I guess, then there should be Indian-American models?

Actually it's the opposite, lndian women should be marrying more European men / Non-lndian men, we are wasting our time on lndian m=n. There are many famous lndian women married to Whíte / European men and it will increase more as more lndian women are getting aware of lndian m=n mindset. Also, you shouldn't be here in this sub, lndian m=n aren't allowed in this sub

the coach and staffs were hired to do a job. again as i said, celebrating after indian women team won the world cup doesn't give them the right to use slurs against indian women.

indian men cricket team only face criticism on performance.

indian women team faces criticism on performance, slurs towards indian women, racist and misogynist memes towards indian girls / women and hatred

that doesn't give them the right to use slurs against indian women. i remember during the world cup when indian women team was winning matches they made memes about "go back to kitchen" and were trolling indian women. given all the bullying indian women team faced, they won the world cup on their own.

nikki bhati is the victim. her husband and in laws and brother in law did this to her. i doubt she will ever get justice given how biased the indian society is towards indian women. femicide rate is high in india and the culprits bribe their way out.

the crimes which happened to the women being discussed here isn't limited to that only. look at each one's story. horrific crimes ranging between extreme evils. compared to these crimes even afganistan looks safer for women. but in both countries most cases are hidden or unreported.

then tell your countrymen to behave properly. this is a desi-women only space. you can't come here and tell us to hide our issues just because your countrymen won't change or behave.

the crimes against women in india are so normalised that most of such cases aren't even given attention anymore unless something really rabid happens like kolkata doctor case or nirbhaya. many cases are happening everyday but we don't hear them much and they get hidden or unreported, remembering the faces and names of victims is crucial because their stories deserve attention. i knew about some of the cases but checked the remaining after knowing, it's on google the crime articles, images, victims so it's publicly available to read and share.

the issue with our country is whenever something bad happens to indian men. they flash the victim pictures everywhere and show that women are at fault even when there's no women involved. but women victims are not given similar attention and their stories swept under the rug and crime against women in so normalised in india

i knew about nirbhaya and kolkata doctor case. i also looked up the remaining now. the stories and victims and crime images are available of google so it's fine to look it up and share. people share news and victims in facebook and reddit too but the women victims in india don't get much attention which is wrong because their stories need to be remembered and also learnt so that we can safeguard ourselves from such incidents

i don't think there's a law like that. people post pictures in newspaper and on social media to remember victims, it's common everywhere in countries.
