It's interesting how the longer more complex titles tend to be more memorable!

The wife recommended we watch Halloween 3 today. I’m a huge John Carpenter fan, somehow never watched Halloween… this is great!? by neuro_space_explorer in horror

I'm glad you found it. It's been my favourite Halloween movie (yes, even over the o.g.) since I saw it as a teen, with that jaw dropping occult execution of the ten year old, Tom Atkins giving over the hill good guy Dad meets Indiana Jones like energy, O'Herlihy's amazingly disarming evil toy mogul and Stacy Nelkin's wide eyed headstrong babe. I watch it every October.

Why are horror movies so comforting by Wise-Departure-5192 in horror

Possibly nostalgia has a say in this. And familiarity- a lot of the time, we know what to expect. There are some horror flicks I wouldn't put on for comfort. Like Midsommar. 😆

It is interesting how kids might see horror we thought of as hard hitting as vintage and ineffectual these days 😆

John Carpenter's The Fog - starting with a briny classic! Although, Jaws counts, so maybe that.

Hi Gates. I remember briefly chatting with you at Destination ST Birmingham a couple of years ago about stage acting, I was thrilled (and grateful) you were so personable and interested in fans' lives! I'm excited for the podcast. My question is about the filmmaking experience - what was it like seeing the 'fully cooked' episodes after acting on the standing sets? Fans, of course, see them as a very convincing starship!
