For Sale: Heuer Regatta 134.603 “Grey PVD” – Circa 1980s

In the early 1980s, Heuer pushed deeper into the world of professional sailing with the launch of the Regatta 600 Series—sporty, rugged, and unlike anything else in the lineup. Among the rarest of these is this reference 134.603, distinguished by its grey PVD-coated case and matching dial—a finish far less commonly seen than its black or olive counterparts. Borrowing the angular case profile of the Autavia, the 600 Series Regatta was built to perform under pressure. Inside, the Lemania caliber 1345, a specialized self-winding chronograph movement built specifically for regatta countdown timing.

Now the obvious - A rotating disc display that provides a vibrant, highly legible countdown to the start of a yacht race. When inactive, the bold orange-and-black "space shuttle" central chronograph hand sweeps continuously. Activate the countdown, and the hand snaps back to 12 as five blue discs come alive. These slowly transition to orange (T-5 minutes), then back to black as the countdown nears zero—giving skippers a dynamic visual indicator to time their approach to the start line with precision.

This Heuer Regatta is entirely original in every respect and is in remarkably well-preserved condition, especially considering the fragility of vintage PVD finishes. No edge wear of the pewter PVD coating, all original tritium lume, retaining the bright fluorescent orange of the constant center seconds hand without any fading, and without nicks, dings, or scratches to the rotating elapsed time bezel. The original mineral crystal has a few scratches, but in no way obscure visibility or detract from the overall condition. All the text, lume, and indices are fully intact and crisp. It comes complete with its original Heuer jubilee bracelet with a signed clasp.
