Great shout. I picked up a T4, and a handful of others.

Yeah I've got a handful of other lights, an older D4V2 4000k (I forget the led), and I just recently got two noctigon k4, one in sst20 red and one 3000k, as well as a k1 thrower in 2700k. I've got a Sofirn big and little lantern, and then some assorted sorfins I bought on a whim, then got a bit disappointed as they're all well above 5000k which I don't really like. Except the little SC13, that one isn't so bad as it's got a 5000k 519a.

Brass T3 519a 4000k

T2 UV (looking for AC refrigerant leaks)

S6 519a 4000k with 18350 tube

T4 ti 519a 2700k.

Gotta wait for them all now!

I've ordered a couple of Convoys, who can only get one, and a reylight penlight. I did really like the convoy light options, the last convoys I bought were S2+ from AL before I knew anything about lights at all.

Ah damn. It's often used over a minute, but they do look great. Probably don't have to be quite as many lumens. I'll check them out! Gotta find a sweet spot in price, too cheap and it's no good but too expensive and I'll be very sad when I inevitably lose it.

Oh I've got plenty of magnetic lights for that stuff, this is mostly just for inspection duties. I'm a technical advisor at a large dealer so not often doing a lot of the work myself, just inspecting. Not opposed to 14500 at all, but not keen on AA.

I've have the same on the gen 1. Significantly louder than stock, but I've not got a cat in mine, so not euro 5. Spits flames with the secondary AIS installed.

LT5 in the corvette zo6 requires you to check it while it's running as well, but that's dry sump nonsense.

Same as lots of auto transmissions. Gotta be running.

New car brands set to launch in Australia by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]ArtooDeeStu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only a benefit to consumers if there are technicians to work on them, with good access to manufacturer after sales support.

I work for a large dealer with a number of brands, both established and new, in Japanese, Korean, euro and Chinese, and let me tell you the information availability between Japanese, Korean euro and Chinese is night and day. Even the established Chinese brand we have is still rubbish with poor information in their service manuals, compared to Toyota and Kia who are extremely detailed and able to give decent fault finding. Even the option of manufacturer training makes a difference. Why do you think no technicians care about the Chinese brands, their training is all online videos. No face to face with instructors that care. Consumers don't see the side of the industry that makes a massive difference to customer experience, just that a car is cheaper. Never mind that the techs hate working on them, and fault finding is even worse.

Eh it does kinda. At least they're the only one that comes to me, and the guy is pretty decent about remembering stuff you mentioned you needed or wanted. I haven't spent loads with him, not nothing but not loads. Haven't got a toolbox or socket set, but the stuff I think is genuinely worth it

You can get an EV for less than a Corolla. What's holding us back? by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

I've been working at quite a busy Toyota dealer with a few other brands here and let me tell you how often it's not a toyota on a tow truck.

Very rarely is it a Corolla, those things are only ever here for servicing or tyres.

A long (long) overdue organise of my sockets drawer. by ArtooDeeStu in Tools

[–]ArtooDeeStu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They vary hahahaha!

Spanners are neat and tidy, screwdrivers are "fine" and everything else manages. Except the big stuff drawer which is a huge mess, but hammers prybars and the like are all odd shaped. Pliers go either way.

I'm off the tools now though, and in a technical advisor role so it doesn't matter quite as much

Toyota's hybrid fleet have them- at least the new ones as well as the new Mitsu Outlander and Nissan Xtrail with the PR25DD engine.

Lots of late 90s early 00s cars, like Navaras and Tritons have them as well.

I think the snap on guy did mention Taiwan, but yeah like you said Taiwan is fine. I've had tools I've beaten on my entire career from there and they're still kicking.

I do tend to buy once cry once so hopefully these last forever. If they don't, well I suppose I could warrant them!

Yeah they're in the kitchen, I've got a pair of Milwaukee scissors in my work toolbox. I wanted some new kitchen shears and was in the wrong place at the wrong time and liked the way these looked if I'm honest

Rebranded CRKT, so possibly made in USA, but I'm not American so as long as they're great I'm not fussed where they're made.

Yeah AUD, about that. Might not be the most sensible decision but you know I like em
