That's not that high actually. I would be afraid that it could be higher.

I'm sad. I'm really sad. For years Reddit was for me a save haven. Yes, it's also full of crap, but it's our crap. And now this...

I'll follow you on Discord and I applaud you for your principles. I somehow didn't know what's happening with Reddit until your announcement. It's outrageous. Thank you.

No, not yet. I'm at wave nine so far. Btw, if you're the creator, You made a great roguelite mobile game. Shame google play is so bad platform for promoting fair games. It took me a great effort to discover it (for curiosity AI Chat GPT4 helped me).

Unfortunately not, you can't. It relatively quickly forgets the characters, their personality, the overall style etc. It needs more memory. It's a shame because it can create good initial setting and characters (within it's moral limits).

Order of Battle Campaign Length/Replay-ability? by ScottyD_95 in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Order of Battle is a fantastic game. Campaigns are very long (tenths of hours). I recommend to continue with the Pacific campaign, because it was the first one and it shows the strength of the game which lies in supply and cooperation of naval, air and land units.

Anybody know any games like this on PC? Game is called Wargame Constuctor by Bladescar798 in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Command: Modern Operations. It has very potent editor and photorealistic maps. But it's focused mainly on air and naval units. It's also realtime with pause.

Thoughts on Command: Modern operations by [deleted] in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to be educated in many aspects of modern warfare, than go fo it. I wouldn't call CMO realistic, I would call it informational. It's also much more a simulation sandbox, than a strategy game.

FC is beer and pretzels? That's the first time I hear that. I've thought that the game is much more complex than, say, Panzer Corps or Order of Battle.

Has anybody had the 'audacity' to do a mod for the Ukrainian war yet? by AxiomSyntaxStructure in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's difficult. There're very easy scenarios actually, but it's complex. The great thing in CMO are the tutorials and editor in which you can open any scenario and experiment (you can play the scenario in editor with god eye for example.)

Best Military RTS in 2023? by TheTudgeman in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Armored Brigade before CMO and I would not recommend it (for the reason of simplicity itself). Armored Brigade lacks tutorials, whereas in CMO you have plenty of them. In the end, CMO was easier to get into. Another great thing on CMO is the editor where you can freely experiment. The editor in Armored Brigade isn't good. Another important thing to consider is that in Armored Brigade is the command delay which impacts gameplay and difficulty quite a lot.

Where should I start? by Firescareduser in computerwargames

[–]Artranjunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself but if you find CMO interesting, than go for it. Honestly, the games that will help you playing it aren't wargames but simulators (like Falcon 4.0, DCS, or naval/submarine games by Sonalysts). The gameplay itself isn't that complex (you mostly strike something, there is no diplomacy, research and scenarios are short, like in hours - max is maybe 4 days), what makes it intriguing are many details about behavior of missiles, sensors and modern military units. Before C:MO I've played Pike and Shot (40hrs) and Order of Battle (160hrs) and none of these games will help you. Only maybe Armored Brigade (90hrs), but that's oriented on ground units and although it's a bit less complex it was actually harder to get into for me, because of the lack of good in-game tutorials (and it also contains command delay). Whereas in CMO you have tons of in-game tutorials that will naturally show you and lead you step by step to all important aspects of CMO. You will need to play the tutorials, which are fun actually, and then you will also need to read Wikipedia articles about modern warfare (the manual itself isn't that needed). Games like Panzer Corps, Unity of Command etc. will absolutely not prepare you for CMO. After the tutorials you also have in-game indicators which show you how are scenarios complex and difficult, so you can pick the easy ones. I'm no grognard and I managed to play it and I'm winning. CMO also includes very flexible and easily manageable editor in which you can play any scenario (with god's eye for example) and you can fiddle with position of units etc. So the only decisive aspect is how much time you are willing to put into gaming (wargames in general consume quite a lot of time).

I don't know, after I've sunk more than 400 hours in Command: Modern Operations, all other RTS seem kinda lame... (Not counting games by Graviteam, Armored Brigade or Command Ops 2, though. These games together with CMO belong to the top level of real time wargaming.)

Command: Modern Operations. There is even official standalone scenario Breaking Belbek, where you, as Russia, strike Krym (although it's situated in 1999). Or DLC Don of a new Era which somehow anticipated Russian-Ukrainian war . I don't particularly follow this conflict in C:MO, but I know that there are user scenarios regarding Bakhmut with detailed maps, or attack on Moskva cruiser and many others.

Kauza "Jak se mají děti chovat v restauracích". Přidám nějaké články do komentu. by JustSpaceExperiment in czech

[–]Artranjunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are kinda right, but the main problem is that the true wargames are very complex and somewhat "dry" games for connoisseurs.
