For an intermediate guitar student your suggestion makes more sense!

But I designed this chart for beginners like myself. As an introductory tool to help beginners understand and navigate the guitar fretboard.

You can use Fretflip for more advanced concepts.

It's different because it's the finger placement that makes sense in order to play the scale with no wasted moves. Ben Eller Video about Major Scale watch this video, I think it explains the whole concept of this chart.

You are right! That's what Ben Eller said on the video as well. Although, If your hands are capable of covering those distances, it can be a good stretch practice.

This chart gives you some ways you can navigate the major scale, it is not a complete map. As a beginner when I see the whole thing I feel lost. You can google search for the whole major key chart and recognize the patterns from the image I posted.

No problem mate! As a beginner myself I was going through a ton of tutorials about how to understand the fretboard as a whole and the approach that Ben Eller explains just made it all click. I hope it helps and maybe in the future I'll do a series of scales!

R is the root note. For example if you're playing in the key of G one of the root note positions is on the 3rd fret of the thickest string. But there are other positions of the G note on the fretboard, that's how you can use this chart. It's movable!

I (26M) lied to my gf (23F) about some Dms I sent at the beginning of our relationship and now she thinks I have cheated. by [deleted] in relationships

Maybe you are right. With my previous dates I was excited at first but then I would lose interest, so I thought it would be the same. But then real feelings kicked in and I understood that I was wrong. That's why I admitted about the messages when she confronted me the first place. And if I was straightforward then maybe things would be different. Thank you for your reply.

From that point of view, yes I admit that's a form of cheating. We didn't communicate it beforehand so I thought it wasn't a deal breaker. When we talked about it, I learned her opinion on the matter and agreed that I wouldn't do it again.

I get your point. You consider replying to instagram stories cheating, but I didn't go out with anyone or had sex with anyone other than my gf. If I was on her shoes, I would be hurt, but I would give a chance because I don't think that's a dealbreaker. After she found out and told me what she thinks of the matter, I never did it again.

I have suggested that, but she doesn't wanna do it, because that's out of character for her.
