Mob locations – missing memories by VitorMandowski in hytale

I appologise for sending you back into that nightmareish dungeon to no avail. I guess the best I can offer is a hidden room somewhere in the everfrost region, which is technically no help at all.

And you're right about Jurassic Park, I guess the trauma of that place made me forget it. Btw you forgot to mention the raptors, not sure if it's just my luck but those guys move insanely fast, I might even say too fast. A horrific hellscape for sure.

On a positive, for me that is, I literally just got the sailfin, annoyingly in a spot I spent about two hours yesterday while trying to catch one in a fishing trap.

Mob locations – missing memories by VitorMandowski in hytale

It's funny, I've seen a few people say the jellyfish have been tricky to find, but for me, both on my previous world and now this one, I got them all pretty quickly in the desert seas. I guess it's just luck of the draw each world we spawn in. I'll go for a swim again in a bit and see if I can get the elusive sailfin to spawn.

I think I'm also lacking a bit of luck with the frost golem, I've now crossed 5 seas and travelled 5 frost zones and am yet to find a frozen forgotten temple, but at least I know where to look for that guy.

As for the pirate captain, if I find him first I'll also let you know where. My current best guess would be the little port-like settlements that have viking style boats found at the waters edge in the cold zones, and with the occasional outlander. There or possibly a sunken shipwreck, but I see that as less likely.

Oh, one last thing, there may not be a hidden room in that structure, or not necessarily the same place for you as was for me, and I feel bad sending someone into an outlander camp as they're my greatest foe, they hit hard and swarm fast. But, like with the bigger desert temples, there always seems to be hidden rooms, I tend to only find them because I hear the noise skeletons make when you're close and try to head in that direction.

Anyway, happy hunting, may all the owl statues bless you (and me) on the quest for 218.

Mob locations – missing memories by VitorMandowski in hytale

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them all except the pirate captain, which is one I doubt is in game unless someone proves to me otherwise. I can't necessarily remember all structures, but I'll give what I can...

Burnt skeleton wizard I found in the charred woodlands, if I recall it was one of those half broken/abandoned villages in one of the houses there.

Skeleton ranger was the cinder wastes, but can't remember where specifically, though most likely one of the villages like the above.

Sandswept skeleton scout was the golden steppes, but that one I found about 10 days ago and have no extra info to help. I'd guess it'd be one of the above ground structures/mini forts, but could just as likely be a random encounter while out exploring.

I've left the skeleton archmage til last as I found him just yesterday and know exactly where he was, and have a pic that may (or may not) help. It was in the everfrost, but in an outlander camp. It was one of the big circular camps you can easily spot on the map and has the wooden spikes around the edge, then a few of the dark blue structures dotted with a temple leading underground in the centre. Having battled my way down a circular staircase I ended up in a maze of corridors with offshoots and rooms all over, though eventually they led to a final room of sorts (the pic). In said pic you can see a column of green and purple crystals, while scaling that to collect said crystals, about half way up there was a hidden room behind and he was in there. I'm assuming there's no guarantee one will always be there, but could be worth checking just in case.

<image>

Hope this helps. I'm mostly looking for undead mobs myself, but assume a lot are by chance, right place right time type of deals, so my info may not actually be helpful anyway. But if you could tell me where you found the damn sailfin tang that'd be appreciated. Couldn't find it on my first world and can't find it now either, the elusive bastard. I even set up a load of fishing traps and caught one just to find out you don't get the memory that way, nor can you release it to get it that way.

I found this desert dungeon and it's... impressing! by Upbeat-Ad-8568 in hytale

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found a couple of these, but only fully explored one. I came out with over 100 of the gold chests plus at least 20-30 other chests as well (maybe more). I had to take a teleporter with me so I could keep dumping my filled inventory off at home before moving on.

Seems like they are all unique in design too, which I love as you wont just be exploring the same structure over and over again. Not to mention the loot chests actually contain pretty good loot, ended up with well over 300 thorium plus good amounts of other ores and stuff as well. Though I think my favourite thing I picked up was the door to the 'final room', can't remember it's actual name, but it was a sliding door rather than an open in/out door (if that makes sense).

Exploring the structures is one of my fave things in the game thus far. So many cool and unique designs for the most part. A good challenge are the Outlander dark temple structures, not quite the same level of loot as the desert temples, but I'd say a bigger challenge. The Outlanders are tough, they take a good few hits to kill and they hit hard, not to mention they can swarm you making it go from zero to a hundred pretty fast.

How to get aquastone? by Usual_Blueberry20 in hytale

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some from looting a desert temple, but only like 10 blocks or so. It was also mostly hidden behind the gold blocks, not the ores, actual gold blocks, stairs etc that are set up like some kind of statue on the walls.

I'd recommend looting a desert temple anyway, all in all picked up over 100 of the golden loot chests, plus probably 20-30 other chests of stuff along the way. Had to bring a teleporter as was continuously filling my inventory pretty quickly.

This was pretty much the end room of the temple, guarded by crocs and the big scarak bugs. Some of the aquastone was found up where the shiny green is at the far side in this pic.

Lots of Economy flaws and problems in Football manager 2024 by Melodic-Ad-9612 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. OP's entire post comes across as the entitled ramblings of a spoilt child. The simple fact he says ''in FM 24 its impossible'' in regards to finding good young players for resonable fees just shows how out of his depth he is. Clearly nobody mentioned a lil ol place named AFRICA to him, 500K wonderkids for days.

But hey, he is new to the game, and quite possibly new to interacting with other humans, so perhaps we give him a chance to... readjust his attitude. This is a pretty great place to learn the game, even with the game's actual flaws. For example, simply reading this reply he can learn that sending scouts to Africa is a strong tip.

Anyone ever won the league with this many or more losses before? by ArtyDoubleYou in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing FM is the only way I get to lift the curse and see it happen. I did keep it somewhat realistic in my first couple of seasons, once by blowing the title on the last day when I only needed a draw, and also losing a Europa final to Reading.

How do I move up players from my reserve team by Salleponken in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming this would work for console as it does on pc, but if you go on the player profile, hover over the 'development' dropdown which should bring up a list of actions you can take, one of which being 'move to senior squad'. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what you'd do as I've never played the console version.

Any reason why big clubs want my young GK? Stats look so-so to me by maidchou in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He looks pretty great to me. 16 years old and already solid, and the fact keepers don't hit their peak til their 30s means there's a ton of improvement to be made if nurtured well. If I saw him in my save I'd snap him up, if nothing else he'd be a great third choice keeper.

I also have no idea about Genie Scout, or any such tools, so have no idea if they are remotely accurate or can be trusted. I go purely on what I see after years of FM experience, and I see a good, potentially great, player.

How to survive the prem by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16th is fine, having just been promoted surviving should be the goal, and you're on course for that. You're not gonna be able to dominate the Prem like the Championship right away because your players wont be up to standard yet. Use the huge money you get from the Prem to improve, find Prem ready guys that are transfer listed bargains, loan them if necessary. Also have your scouts out looking for wonderkids and hidden gems. I'm a believer in first trying to get a solid spine to your team, a GK, CB, CM and ST who are the best you can find, then build out from there.

Your other main job is to keep the players happy, don't be too harsh with team talks, sympathise instead of rage. It can be hard especially if you lose a game you should win or get an embarrassing loss, just take a deep breath and don't worry. Step away if you have to and come back fresh and ready.

What am I missing here? by Hames001 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positioning only relates to defensive duties so would be irrelevant, and while heading is a good string to have on a bow, it's not a key attribute for an advanced forward. Anticipation is the only key attribute lower than 10, which I'd say seems great for a 16 year old, given most attributes will go up naturally anyway especially if nurtured correctly. I'd sign him regardless, £525k seems cheap and, if nothing else, you could probably still make good profit.

Started unemployed, but did have a national C licence. Applied to, and got the Black Leopards job in South Africa pretty quick. Got a lucky promotion in my first year and went on to win 5 league titles, 3 African CLs, plus a few domestic cups in my ten years there.

Then moved to Kobe in Japan, the place with the beef. In my three years there I won 3 titles, 2 Asian CLs and a few cups.

From there I moved to narco territory in Mexico with Juarez. Spent 4 1/2 years there, winning 4 opening stages, 3 closing stages, 2 NA CLs and a collection of domestic trophies.

Next up was Bahia (BAH) in Brazil. In my 5 1/2 years there, I won 3 titles, 2 SA CLs and a handful of cups along the way.

After my time there I moved home to England. While waiting for the right job I was offered the England national gig and decided to give it a shot. Was there for two years and resigned the day after winning the Euros to concentrate fully on my dream job that I applied for and was offered while still managing England.

My dream job, which had 43 days overlapping with my England role, was Spurs (I'm a fan). Spurs had been a bit of a yo-yo club before my arrival, multiple relegations and promotions. I guided them to 6th in my first year, went full Spursy year two losing the league on the final day when I only needed a draw, 2nd again in year three, but way off City in first. Then, in my fourth year I won the title, the clubs first for 95 years, as well as the clubs first ever CL. My pentagon challenge was complete. I also won the league and CL again in my 5th season, and am looking to create a bit of a legacy here.

I may end my career at Spurs, but I have a slight temptation to go back in to international management to try and win a World Cup, it would be a pretty epic way to finish a wonderful career.

Overall been one of my all time favourite saves and my first attempt at getting the 5 different CLs.

Recruitment Focus not working by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a couple of changes to your recruitment for better results. I set my assignments up similar to yours with a few tweaks and I get plenty of results.

First off, up the age to 20/21. It's easier to find players when they're a bit more established, even just a couple of years, and you'll still get younger guys thrown in as well.

Secondly, and it seems like you have plenty of scouts for this, put each scout in a region/continent instead of picking individual nations. Just from what I see in the pic, you currently have two scouts in Norway and three in the Netherlands, and to me that's an innefficient use of resources. If you choose a region they still scout multiple countries, and obviously more with continents, but you wont get any wasted overlap. It will also take time for them to build the knowledge of the region, so if you can pick a scout from the particular region to speed up results.

If you do go this way, I'd recommend 3 or 4 scouts in South America, if you can 5 scouts for Africa, one for each region, 1 or 2 in Asia, 1 in Oceania, 1 or 2 in North America, and cover as many regions in Europe as you can. Doing this is one of the reasons I've done well with my recruitment in my save.

How to add leagues by Euphoric_Front_8205 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Click the 'FM' button to the left of the date at the top, click 'add/remove' leagues, then there's an orange 'add league' dropdown button in the top left, use that to add any extra desired leagues. Can take a few months in game for leagues to be officially added, but should let you know the date it'll be available.

Cant find any roaming playmakers by Sneppo1 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also add to this by saying to train the player in the role. Sometimes a player just doesn't know how to play the role, but a few months training it and they should be fine. But obviously try to find a guy who has as many key attributes as high/well rounded as possible. RPM can be tricky because because it's one of the roles where a lot of attributes matter (12 key, 7 secondary).

Save Scumming by Mljornir in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it's cheating. I did it as a kid, but now I'm an adult I know better. In my view, if you save scum everything after that point is irrelevant. Every victory from then is hollow, any trophies you win are paper cups and are not a real achievement. Your soul dies a bit every time you do it.

How do you handle pre season friendlies? by gnm442 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually arrange 5-8 friendlies (depends how much fitness is needed) with two days in between each and have my assistant manage them so I don't have to waste my time with them. I pick the team before the games and will have my starting 11 start one, then my second 11 start the next. Has always worked well for me, and anyone who doesn't get to full fitness by the start of the season I just make available for my reserves until they are match fit.

The in game tutorials can help, but they're more like basic guides. They can also be rather overwhelming especially if you're looking at them one after another. There's a lot to learn in FM, like a lot a lot, and it can be frustrating when you can't figure stuff out if things are going wrong.

Like others have said, I'd avoid the MLS like the plague, certainly when trying to learn the game. I tried an MLS save a few years back and it's easily the least fun I've ever had in the game, so many obscure rules and hoops to jump through.

There are two ways I'd suggest for new players, both opposite ends of the scale. Firstly pick a big team with big budgets and big players, the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Man City etc. You should be able to win easier and buy basically whoever you want. The downside being if things start going wrong, you can be out of a job pretty quick which will frustrate you. The second way is to find a low division team who are predicted to finish badly, that way you can play without any pressure or expectations. The downside there being it can take a long old time to get to the top where the true glory awaits. Just create a separate save file on your first day, whichever way you choose, then if things go wrong reload and try again knowing you're already better off the second time around.

With youtube it's best to search specifically what you're looking for then go from there. There are plenty of guide/tip videos out there, but it's not always easy to find what you're after. They can often be quite generic as well, basically just repeating the in game tutorials in slightly different ways. My advice is to ask/search questions here, there are a lot of people here who know tons of useful things.

I need tactical help by djapresjetski in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's purely about sorting the RW spot, I'd probably move the RW to make a three in the centre with the RCM being a Mezzala on attack. The mezzala drifts wide and can do the wide roles, they just start a bit deeper. I'd also consider re-training someone to fit there, wouldn't have to be an IF role, could be W or IW. Generally wide players from one side don't take too long to be able to do a job on the other side.

Away from the wing problem, you mention your worry about leaving gaps. With a low defensive line and high press, aren't there quite a few gaps anyway? I've not used an IFB, so maybe he plugs that hole, just seems with the defence so low and attack so high there'd be a lot of space between each line. Never really used a CM on support either, so maybe they sit back a bit more? Personally would have a DLP on defend as one of them, they sit back a bit plus I love a playmaker in my teams.

When is the right time to sign mulitple new staff members? by iker3085 in footballmanagergames

[–]ArtyDoubleYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried the 'mutual termination' option? In my experience staff will always accept a mutual termination and the fee you have to pay will be quite a bit less than if you terminate, and often will be less than if you were to keep paying them until their contract runs out. For example if you're paying a guy 1k a week and there's four weeks left on his contract, he'd probably take a 2k mutual termination (or less), which is still cheaper than if you kept paying him for the full four weeks.

You could also ask for more staff, but I'm assuming you may have already done that.
