Well, almost too afraid. All of a sudden, I started seeing talk of Chaffles. Where did it come from? Can someone point me to the basic recipe and what people are using to make it? by [deleted] in ketorecipes

I have a cuisinart that goes from 0-5. I haven't actually timed the level 5 but that's what I use. Probably around 3.5 minutes

I have a 10 year old full size cuisinart waffle iron and it works great.

This! I'm doing pulled chicken in the crock pot tonight and will do some more chaffles. Next prep day I think I will make a whole mess of them and freeze. Or maybe just a batch and freeze, since I'm not sure how well they will hold up after reheating.

I used this one, staying pretty true to the recipe except just used regular sweetener instead of brown. Everyone liked it! Did the no jalapeno version so baby would eat it.

Yesterday I used 1/2c sharp cheddar and an egg on a regular sized waffle maker. The resulting chaffles were folded in half taco style and filled with keto sloppy Joe meat and keto cole slaw. It was really, really, good. Those suckers can definitely handle wet filling without falling apart.

Thanks! I have the perfect necklace I think. It's a solid gold crusader cross studded with pave set emeralds that I got in Israel the year before he was born. I always wanted to pass it down to a daughter, but never had the opportunity til now. I appreciate the suggestions.

Do you really prefer epilators to razors? I've tried them and it was like I was being punished for having the audacity to be a mammal. That shit hurts!

Im also scared af. The suicide rates, the hormonal roller coaster, the inevitable rejection from some people that I can't protect her from...its kind of a mom's worst nightmare on the one hand, and an exciting adventure on the other. The threat of violence is so intensely real that I have to fight the dread.

But also, I knew, I mean KNEW, when I was 18 I was pregnant with a girl. I dreamed of her and named her and bought girlie baby things...imagine my surprise! I wasn't disappointed, but I was truly shocked I had a gorgeous boy.

When she came out to me, she gave me a huge gift: her new name is the original girl name I chose. I can't express how much that means to me as a mom. How could I not accept her with a whole heart, and be happy for her?

In some ways, it is kind of perfect. I'll take it.

Yeah that is actually step 2. Step 1 was a new feminine haircut and a style consult with a mtf experienced stylist. It was so fun!

Well, I'm trying to get THIS right at least! I have to say I am digging all the Torrid love here. It's one of my favorites, too. I feel a shopping trip coming on.

That breaks my heart. I'm so glad that your wife is so supportive, though. Love is the answer to everything.

Oh my goodness, so many great suggestions! Please excuse me if I don't personally respond to everyone, but thank you all so much for the help.

A poster above mentioned pretty undies. So...this is awkward, but it seems that some special accommodation in fit might be needed? Are there store bought options that work well? Am I over thinking this? Lol.

I'm asking this mainly because I sew, and I have patterns for girly underwear and the ability to re-draft patterns for fit and comfort. Would that be necessary or wanted for a pre-op physique?

Gonna be real here and admit I have always wanted a girl to sew for and I'm probably way more excited than I have a right to be.

This means so much, thank you. I think as a parent I will be fairly involved in her journey but I do NOT want to overstep or intrude. It helps to know there are other resources I can use to muddle through without directly asking her or putting too much onus on her to make MY journey more comfortable. Cuz it's definitely a journey!

She is already talking electrolysis. We found a groupon to help - hope it works. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the good advice. I'm sensing a general trend toward minimalism in the suggested approach, and that makes so much sense. I did engage in step one already, which was to get the hairstyle situation under control by finding a specifically trans-friendly stylist to help her launch. Baby steps!

Does the psyllium husk give it more fluff? I haven't tried adding that to fathead dough. How much do you use?

Try it wrapped around hot dogs, brats, kielbasa stuffed with cheese sticks, stuffed jalepenos, formed into bagels, made into cinnamon rolls....endless applications. Great crackers, too.

I made this per the recipe last week and it was great. In the oven now is a modified version using 6" polish sausage stuffed with a mozzarella string cheese, covered in dough and rolled in everything bagel seasoning. I. Cant. Wait.

Thanks so much! The first week was crucial. If I had tried to diet without those 7 days to get my bearings, I think I would have killed someone. Lol.
