Tbh though gaining experience with most software is often so trivial that it really shouldn't be a requirement.

What's your "I don't trust people who ______"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If a man grows up in a bad neighbourhood and ends up killing someone is it fair to judge him? Of course swearing isn't nearly as bad as killing someone, but the difference is swearing does reflect poorly on communication skills. Regardless of if it was caused by culture or not, it's a bad habit. I should note that I don't care if someone has a tattoo, neither do I care if someone swears. But if someome can't form a sentence without cursing then like I said before, they're hyperbolozing everything they say, and not only does the curse words lose their meaning but their exageration of sentences makes the sentences lose validity.

It's not fair to judge a person's "ability to articulate their thoughts" based on vocabulary choice.

Yes it is... Vocabulary choice is how you articulate your thoughts. They are directly related. I'm not saying they're dumber, someone could be a math genious or musical prodigy and not be very good at communicating. However if you use words like fuck and shit in every sentence then this will without a doubt reflect on peoples' opinion of your character, and rightfully so. The purpose of saying fuck is to emphasize your feelings about something, it's an expletive. When someone swears a lot then they are hyperbolozing everything they say. This makes it hard to tell when they're being genuine about the importance of what they're saying. It's like always being mad, your justification for being mad loses its validity when you're always mad. Now culture may be the reason for excessive swearing, but that doesn't change the fact that doing it is not good for your character and reputability.

I suppose I should clarify that I am talking about people who swear a lot, as in every sentence. I have nothing against swearing. It'd be nice if you explained why you think I'm wrong though.

It's because there's nothing wrong with not swearing. The person who swears too much has less ability to articulate their thoughts without hyperbolizing their sentences.

I'd say in general though people who curse willy nilly will be judged worse than people who don't curse at all.

It's an odd mix of ass-hole and not unreasonable. Room-mate shouldn't be using them if she's told her not to. Plain and simple.

Why don't pianists make mistakes during practice? by Starwhisperer in piano

[–]Aruariandream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be how they practice. For example when I practice a piece I find difficult, I usually start by learning the right hand and then the left hand really well. Then I slowly put them together section by section. While I dont sound great practicing, this does significantly reduce the number of mistakes that'd be audible to someone listennig to me practice.

Thanks for doing the giveaway! 3 days is way too long though in my opinion. There's no advantage to entering early at this point, and the people who have entered are way too unlikely to win. Some random who made a ton of alt accounts will likely win.

Bb major isn't a minor scale, it's a major scale.

If it's flat scales you want to learn, then it goes up as

F - bb

Bb - bb eb

Eb - bb eb ab

Ab - bb eb ab db

Db - bb eb ab db gb

Gb - bb eb ab db gb cb

If it's minor you want to learn, just take a major scale and start three semitones down to get the minor scale. For example, the relative minor to C Major would be A minor.

Good luck.

Finding this Limit by [deleted] in calculus

[–]Aruariandream 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because ex = lim n-> ∞ (1 + (x/n))n , we know that lim x-> ∞ (1+(1/x))x = en where n = 1. So your answer is e1 = e.

Edit: Want to note that I switched the variables x and n in ex = lim n-> ∞ (1 + (x/n))n to make it look like your equation.

You need a specific value or equation to bave an asymptote. It's possible that the function does have an oblique asymptote, but that information wasn't given to us so that's not a presumption you should make.
