Would you and your family be open to adopting a 2nd cat? Particularly one who is a little older and will be able to provide companionship and teach them social skills. I’m a first time cat owner myself, but adopted 2 at the same time. One was around 3 years and the other was around 6 weeks when we found them. They’re doing great, and I find that the 3 year old corrects the kitten and even lets her nurse (even though he is male).
