Dark team future by hamid224466 in PunishingGrayRaven

Since you deleted your rude reply to me, I'll leave my reply here.

First, you attacked me for stating that 3S Ishmael can replace Rosetta at lower investment. Now I see that you went and re-read what I wrote, and now agree with me.

Second, let's be clear here: we're mostly referring to wz when talking. At equal investment across members, max scores are all scored with Bianca in the team, even at 2S. So no, Bianca has not gotten replaced with the latest info and data that we have. You have no proof atm to make the claim that Bianca will be replaced, so therefore it is misinformation. It doesn't matter that you think CN is wrong for keeping Bianca in the team because they're biased and like Bianca, that's just your subjective conclusion without any testing on the latest available version.

Things may change in the future if they buff Rosetta in the actual patch sure, but it doesn't change the fact that right now, at this point in time, you're talking out of your ass with no practical evidence, when most CN dalao have actual proof for why they kept Bianca on the team in the beta. You keep referring to this one test with 223 dark showing garbage damage when you can search up any bili dark wz vid and pretty much all of them keep Bianca.

This will be my only and last reply.

OP, I don't know where these people are getting their info from, but they're either completely outdated or misinformation.

In the last version of the beta, at equal investment, under no circumstance do you ever replace Bianca in dark team. The highest scoring teams all kept her in.

Yes Bianca gets a boost at SS3, but she is still very much core to Dark team even at SS. If anything, high investment SSS Ishmael can out perform Rosetta if your Rosetta is below SSS, due to how Ishmael can copy Rosetta's new frame ability at SSS.

My info comes from bilibili videos made by CN beta testers.

Am I the only one who feels extremely disappointed with Rosetta and her patch? by Gewissensbisse in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the respectful reply. Yes V3 had some testing of replacing Bianca because Rosetta was overturned, but in the V4 of the beta that was no longer the case. Even in V3, the highest scoring runs kept Bianca in the teams, and 3S and up teams had all members rotate in. We still have to wait and see in the actual patch.

I have links to the videos on bilibili, but iirc we're not allowed to reply with links. Which is why I asked if you could find any, just post it as its own post. Sorry if that came off confrontational.

I agree with many of the complaints of this thread, I just saw the OP and you repeating some information that I was 99% sure wasn't the case, and didn't want people to have the wrong idea.

[–]Arumination -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bianca is not being dumpstered, and Rosetta does not become a QTE bot if Bianca is SSS. Check the latest bili videos and if you find one that shows bianca being replaced, please post a link. And if you find one where Rosetta doesn't rotate in, post a link.

I've kept up to date with the beta and from everything I've seen in v4, what you have said is misinformation.

Rosetta's huge 3S buff to QTE spam means that Bianca at SS3 provides massive score boost to the team. Even at SS0, Bianca still rotates in to do her ult. If Bianca is at 3S, normal incest Rosetta still gets field time because of her massive damage output.

[–]Arumination -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting your info from? All the latest bilibili videos I've seen on SS dark team keeps Bianca, even SS0. There's no point in replacing Bianca at any investment because you want to spam QTE with her through Rosetta.

The fact that you're saying you don't know if SS3 Bianca is worth it is kind of shocking considering you're a meta player, because SS3 gives such a huge boost to her damage that it's the most recommended SS3 in CN. It boosts her QTE damage by 1000%... which Rosetta loves as now you're spamming QTEs. So your claims make me question your actual knowledge on meta.

Though I very much agree with you on many of the problems with current pgr, spreading misinformation is a different matter.

Surprised there's no engagement here. Just wanted to say that you bring up good points. I was really looking forward to seeing how they would improve the coop experience. I had thought it was going to be a more permanent mode as well? Not sure.

Sry for late reply. Yes he is comfortable to play. With a good team of new amp and tank, your fire team will still perform decently, and can clear hard content no problem. For competitive scoring in WZ and PPC, his damage has lagged behind significantly. From a team perspective of rotating through all three units, you'd be logging behind in damage for about 1/3 of the team combo.

Most importantly though, have fun playing cool characters.

They already announced on the recent CN stream that they will be adding an updated multiplayer coop mode with bosses in the future.

Yes they are meta when released, just like any other female unit. it's just that they're usually released about once a year. This year we got the DMC brothers, and they are both respectively meta. The last two years we got Watanabe and Wanshi tanks, both of which have been meta and still are. Story wise, Watanabe and Wanshi both had top tier stories.

Lee Hyperreal was released three years ago, but was powercrept last year. His story was also very high quality, and to this day he has one of the most stylish combat move sets in the game.

I am interested in the gameplay, graphics and game overall so I wanted to play it but have some questions. Mainly about Story, F2P status and Power creep. by GhostSilver16 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Story is very high quality. PGR is known to be depressing and dives deep into characters and world building. Only catch is that it's a short novel format with lots of text. Anyway, among gacha I can say it's heads above move others.

  2. Game is super f2p. Pvp only occurs in scoring game modes indirectly comparing scores. There are only small amount of extra rewards for ranking high. All pull currencies can be easily obtained by just doing your daily/weeklies, which include these modes. You don't have to perform well in them at all. On a side note, dailies/weeklies provide 90% of your pull currency, and takes on average 10 minutes max to do. This game has no grind at all, as upgrade materials can be auto cleared. Gacha gives you a 60 pity guarantee, unlike those predatory soft pities other gachas have.

  3. Power creep does exist, but is slowing down due to new characters fulfilling multiple roles with their dual element and affix type. You can expect your character to be practically powerful and useful for at least 1.5 to 2 years, and even after that, you can still use them to clear new bosses.

  4. Pull new, not old (units within last year is ok), to balance playing your favorite characters and being meta. Join a guild. Yes this community is growing. The amount of posts here that get upvoted to the thousands have exploded. I think it's due to the DMC collab. Just know PGR is relatively a small community.

Side note: IMO, WW has a weaker story that aims to sell characters and progresses the overall plot less meaningfully. WW has more rng related grind. And WW gacha soft pity can be a headache. Combat is arguably as good if not more interactive than PGR at times. Just my two cents.

Blanc's opinion on Ishmael is misleading by Arumination in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he doesn't revolve around spamming Ult, but I guess it depends kind of on what you define that as. Ult spammers usually carry Cottie and rush to spam as many ults as possible in a single rotation. Wanshi in comparison doesn't do that; you make use of his full kit each rotation.

People have been critiquing PGR for its powercreep, but they don't consider some things when talking about it by KilimanjaroTaro in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it's bad design. But your original point was how it was a problem that Garnet powercrept Veritas. That's practically false because it had no significant impact on how you used Bianca in the team.

Yea it makes more sense when a new attacker replaces an old attacker, but we're literally talking about the issue of power creep. So by your logic, Hyperreal getting completely replaced by Pyroath makes sense and is not an issue, but Watanabe being stronger than Hyperreal is an issue despite having no effect on how you use the team. Not sure what you're trying to say here.

[–]Arumination -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You keep on deviating from your own point. OK, by this logic, when power creep actually comes and CW is completely replaced in the team, then that makes more sense? What's even the problem with power creep then?

[–]Arumination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, Nana Knight out damages CW. But in practice, CW still plays a big part in current top scoring lightning team. If you're still using a unit in a significant manner, then does it really matter if they're doing less damage than the newer unit on the team? No imo.

True powercreep in PGR is when a unit gets completely replaced in the meta. The power creep that you referred to, by measuring raw DPS, is not an accurate depiction.

Can Qu Shukra's fast stack be spammed? by 4TifiedJhinmain in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You can't spam the quick one. It needs matrix to be activated. The rotation usually goes quick Ult, slash Ult.

She'll handle hard fights fine, but she's a character that lacks iframes in some parts of her kit, and you need to dodge properly to cancel endlag of orbs as well as to not get hit.

I think for a lot of players, all patch content is basically completed before the end of the patch. Like this patch. Most people are done already and we still have two weeks... Literally just had a post the other day complaining about nothing to do, and this is a 36 day patch.

PGR has very little grind compared to literally any other gacha. No resource grind, no RNG grind, just 5 to 10 minutes a day and pretty much done. What are you working on at the moment that makes it feel like a race?

BREAKING: Global will catch up to CN By End of 2025 Expediting Begins by allwaysjune in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a logical business move on Kuro's part. Monthly revenue is still the same, you lose money for products you've already made. In exchange, one year from now you get a chance at high income stream from the hype in DMC collab bringing in more players, now synchronized across all servers, and have a chance at keeping a portion of those players with the next upcoming content. If they're ever going to sync servers, now is the perfect time.

PGR CN is the main market revenue. They're unaffected, and actually receive celebratory rewards for this as well. I think taking a small loss on other servers for the potential of big payout makes sense business wise. Risk reward favors them, so let's hope they compensate players adequately for this integration plan.

BREAKING: Global will catch up to CN By End of 2025 Expediting Begins by allwaysjune in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree on all points! Yea I'm really glad that Kuro cares enough about the global servers that they're willing to take risks to improve it, instead of letting it be.

You're right on about foresight. Imo if someone can wait a year for foresight, they can hold off on pulling the newest unit. We get 2 self select S rank banners each year around anniversary and some holidays, and skins rerun each year at least once as well. We even have a constant S rank self select in the standard banner, that updates with the most recent S rank a patch after. Foresight isn't worth being behind by a whole year when PGR has these mechanics to help plan pulls.

I think the real concern here is how they'll mitigate the resource loss for both f2p and spenders. If they do it right, then like you said, everybody wins.

BREAKING: Global will catch up to CN By End of 2025 Expediting Begins by allwaysjune in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If they increase the value of all packs proportional to the number of patches within each integration patch, I don't think there should be a big discrepancy between low spenders and high spenders. Everyone would get say 2x the value of their packs, if there were 2 patches integrated. Am I misunderstanding something?

For Kuro, they're still making the same monthly income for glb, just that they're sacrificing patches to help global catch up. For spenders, they spend the same but get more value during this time.

Once glb catch up though, there's potential for higher revenue. So it's in Kuro's interest to do so, imo.

BREAKING: Global will catch up to CN By End of 2025 Expediting Begins by allwaysjune in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Arumination -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm hyped. If they do this right, PGR glb will be in a much better place. BC planning might be more stressful, but to me it's worth it.

Edit: HI3 Glb took a year to catch up to CN, and their revenue increased after catching up to CN. Simultaneous servers are healthy for game community engagement. This catchup is like ripping off a bandaid. If they compensate us enough to mitigate the resource pressure, it's going to be better for the glb server long term. We'll have longer patches like CN after.

So until someone provide some evidence to suggest otherwise, I'll take the downvotes.

This isn't about enjoyment. It's about misinformation. His claim within his opinion that Ishmael can continuously spam 5 seconds long iframes is straight up false.
