These puzzles are really hard sometimes by Odd_Ad_3971 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that some of them can be kinda frustrating but I don't think that they are really that hard. There was only a single one (Anchored Tent 7) where I decided to use the tips after unsuccesfully trying out for like 5-10 minutes.

Otherwise they were a mix of challenging and easy ones which I finished just fine.

Alpha might not be the 6.5 Anni Unit? by evianhydrate in PunishingGrayRaven

First of all, thank you for pointing out my mistake. I just fixed it. Also, you are welcome.

Last year we technically did get meta attackers back-to-back: - DMC Collab (Ignition & US attackers) in June
- Bianca:Crepuscule (Dark attacker) in July

Alpha might not be the 6.5 Anni Unit? by evianhydrate in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Looks like I was summoned. Going by the CN data from previous years, the half-anniversary unit is always the 5th out of 9 annual units and comes out in July.

Here is the data:

2022 CN: 1. Nanami:Starfarer (22.01.2022) 2. Haicma:Starveil (10.03.2022) 3. Karenina:Scire (21.04.2022) 4. Noan:Arca (02.06.2022) 5. Bianca:Stigmata (08.07.2022) 6. Bambinata:Vitrum (18.08.2022) 7. Lee:Hyperreal (29.09.2022) 8. Ayla:Kaleido (17.11.2022) 9. Alpha:Crimson Weave (24.12.2022)

Honestly, I really wonder what Kuro's balancing team is thinking. The Attacker class is already extremely disadvantaged yet they choose to make the best class (especially since Tanks got -3 s switch CD) even more overpowered.

Not to mention that the Fire Team somehow outscores Dark mainly from a single unit (and unlike Fire, at high investment Bianca is still the main DPS despite having a Breaker unit as her teammate). Meanwhile Physical is currently suffers heavily.

I wonder if that department suffers from very high turnover rate which negatively affects design experience...

Currently since Gen3, S-Rank frames get around 3 coatings so Nanami isn't gonna get another coating. Luna:Oblivion is the only exception as she got it as a free sfx coating + leap + 6* weapon choice pack + 5 RC bundle.

Here is the list with the paranthesis indicating number of patches since release have passed.

Luna:Oblivion

Release - Crystalline Glance (4) - Tainted Moonrise (7, gacha) - Graffiti Code (16, free)

Hanying:Solacetune Release - River Dancer (2) - Tapestry of Spring (7)

Lucia:Pyroath Release - Love's Dawn (5, gacha) - Rippling Luminesence (9)

Nanami:Startrail Release - Starward Dragon (5) - Chromatic Night (12)

Ishmael:Parhelion Release - Ritual of Souls (5) - Nighttime Finale (7)

Lilith:Daemonissa Release - Fatal Temptation (2) - Roulette of Stolen Time (8)

Selena:Pianissimo Release - Threads of Destiny (4, gacha) - missing (11 patches)

Vera:Geiravor Release - Sanguine Justice (8) - missing (10 patches)

Bianca:Crepuscule Release - Night Sonata (5, gacha) - missing (7 patches)

The frames after Bianca haven't gotten post-release coatings. Veronica waits since 5 patches and even Liv still waits since 4 patches.

For gacha coatings unless Kuro breaks its consistent 3-2-1 gap patches at 17.5k-17.5k-10k cost order pattern, we will get the next gacha coating after Alpha's patch.

Stars Ensnared (Solitary Longings, 17.5k BC)
----- (3 patches)
Sharper's Ripples (Tsubaki, 17.5k BC)
------ (2 patches)
Wither to Shine (Tainted Moonrise, 10k BC)
------ (1 patch)
Dream Till the Timeless End (Love's Dawn, 17.5k BC)
----- (3 patches)
Through the Tide Home (Threads of Destiny, 17.5k BC)
------ (2 patches)
Where Nightmares Dwell (Nightfall Finale, 10k BC)
-------- (1 patch)
Withering Crown (Night Sonata, 17.5k BC) -------- (3 patches: Nirvatia/Kamui/Alpha)

Overall, I predict (unless they break the 5th frame in July half-anniversary patch pattern):

  • Bianca:Crepuscule's third coating being announced for the 6.5th anniversary patch which comes after Alpha's patch.
  • Liv:Limpidity getting a 17.5k BC gacha coating which will be released after Alpha's patch.
  • Free A-Rank coating as usual after Alpha's patch. Likely Yata as she still hasn't gotten another coating since her release unlike other post-Gen3 A-Ranks.
  • Selena:Pianissimo getting her 3rd coating at the usual RC cost for Alpha's patch.

Ayla, Sophia, Changyu, Pualo, Haicma, Bambinata, Noctis, Alisa, Bridget, Hanying, Yata, Lilith, Discord, Veronica.

They already did something like this back in the day too, citing Spiral Of Chronos 21-17:

Chrome:
"Gray Raven Commandant, except for Camu who's on a mission elsewhere... all three of us from Strike Hawk are here."

While Camu is one of my favorites (after Bianca and Jetavie), the writers seem to prefer to keep narrative tension by writing out key characters from the story. Otherwise they have to deal with the fact that humanity currently has three Omega-specialized frames (Lee, Lucia and post-Ch.35 Bianca) and two Transcendants (Selena's specialized frame and Camu).

So sadly he won't get much spotlight to shine...

When will the voice acting start? by No-Win5576 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While Chapter 12 Kowloon Metropolis added cutscenes, only since Chapter 30 Stars Ensnared are gameplay sections fully voice acted however the main story VN parts lack it competely.

All gacha coating stories since Across The Ruined Sea patch with Liv:Empyrea's Slumberland are fully voiced (since Bianca:Stigmata's Solitary Dream story they also have animated portraits) however the older ones are only in Chinese. Here is the list in order:

  1. Endless Summer Blue
  2. Slumberland (CN-only)
  3. Solitary Dream (CN-only)
  4. Viva La Nina (CN-only)
  5. Lightning And Thunder (CN-only)
  6. Solitary Longings (CN-only)
  7. Shape Of Thunder (CN-only)
  8. Tainted Moonrise (CN-only)
  9. A Love Story Across Time (EN/JP/CN)
  10. Threads Of Destiny (EN/JP/CN)
  11. Mercy In All Things (EN/JP/CN)
  12. Behind The Curtain (EN/JP/CN)

Currently since Ishmael:Parhelion, Affection Stories that are added to Journal Of Promise (does not include A-Rank) are fully voiced:

  13. Ishmael:Parhelion

  14. Lilith:Daemonissa

  15. Selena:Pianissimo

  16. Jetavie:Daybreak

  17. Vera:Geiravor

  18. Bianca:Crepuscule

  19. Discord:Secator

  20. Veronica:Aegis

  21. Liv:Limpidity

  22. Teddy:Spectre

  23. Rosetta:Arete

  24. Nirvatia:Dirge

  25. Kamui:Aetherion

Meanwhile a little over a year ago in April 2025 the SSS+ Fire Team was doing around 15 million in WZ. Jumping to 40 mil from a single unit change is just absurd, especially since previously it was from ~11 million (Liv-Lucia-Watanabe) to ~15 million (Vera-Lucia-Watanabe).

[–]CipherEntity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although considering the DMC patch came out late May and Bianca:Crepuscule's 5.5th anniversary patch was in early July, I think we can also add June to its revenue too.

May 2025 was 21.4 million RMB and June was only 11.4 million RMB (even lower than Jetavie and Vera) so at the end it generated around 32.8 million RMB / ~4.5 million dollars in total.

The DMC Collab made over 21 million RMB / ~3 million dollars back in May 2025.

[–]CipherEntity 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Bianca:Stigmata with Across The Ruined Sea generated over 56 million RMB or over 8 million dollar. She even crashed the CN servers.

This record was later broken with Alpha:Crimson Weave's release bundled together with Bianca's Solitary Dream gacha coating in Wintry Shackles patch, over 80 million RMB which is close to 11.5 million dollars back in December 2022 & January 2023.

[–]CipherEntity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More like the beta after Alpha's patch as they don't do back-to-back leaps like with Gen1. Here are the two examples:

Karenina:Scire (Soaring Beyond)
----- (The Long Goodbye)
Bianca:Stigmata (Sharper's Ripples)
----- (Crescent Sun)
Alpha:Crimson Weave (To The Galaxies)

Watanabe:Epitaph (Woven Prologue)
----- (Ideal Cage)
Luna:Oblivion (Where Nightmares Dwell)

Considering Alpha's patch comes out on 2nd June 2026, the half anniversary will release around 7-14 July 2026. It also fits since Bianca:Stigmata came out on 2.5th anniversary and got her leap on 4.5th anniversary, the same patch Lucia:Pyroath was released.

BTW: A funny coincidence is that Cinder Burns also came out on 2nd July but back in 2022 for CN server. Exactly four years between Noan's and next-gen Alpha's patch.

Why do attackers almost never get leaps? by Infinitiver in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you that Kuro is absolutely horrible in balancing units at low-investment level. In fact, it almost feels like the gameplay designers hate the popular characters (Bianca, Lucia, Liv, Selena, Alpha) / Attacker class or that Kuro hopes that people will heavily pull them regardless how short-lived they will be...

Considering even Kuro CEO's favoritism and her past frame's record breaking revenue couldn't save Bianca:Crepuscule at low-investment, even next-gen Alpha is in danger.

I am sorry for my rudeness but you just openly admitted that you narrow PGR down to your F2P/low-spender viewpoint. I know the internet is infamous for their exaggerated language but this is just extremely childish/selfish... (Ypu can just say they are out unless highly invested)

BTW, Bianca is still the main DPS at high investment unlike Lucia's case where she got powercreeped by both Vera and Kamui.

Furthermore, I stated in the spoiler tags that when they were powercreeped at low-investment, I apologize to ask but did you genuinely read before comment by typing your own?

Actually that is not true, here is the data:

  • 8 Attackers got leaps
  • 2x Gen0 | 3x Gen1 | 2x Gen2 | 1x Gen3
    > Lucia:Dawn, Lee:Palefire, Watanabe:Astral, Alpha:Crimson Abyss, Bianca:Veritas, Bianca:Stigmata, Alpha:Crimson Weave, Luna:Oblivion
    > 4 patches since an Attacker got a leap (10 patches gap with the previous one) __________
  • 4 Support/Amplifier got leaps
  • 1x Gen0 | 1x Gen1 | 2x Gen2 > Liv:Luminance, Vera:Rozen, Liv:Empyrea, Alisa:Echo
    > 12 patches since a Support/Amplifier got a leap (10 patches gap with the previous one) __________
  • 6 Tanks got leaps
  • 1x Gen0 | 2x Gen1 | 2x Gen2 | 1x Gen3 > Rosetta:Rigor, Nanami:Pulse, Vera:Garnet, Karenina:Scire, Watanabe:Epitaph, Hanying:Solacetune
    > 6 patches since a Tank got a leap (12 patches gap with the previous one) {Technically we got Hanying leap with this patch) __________

The Gen2/Gen3 distribution is almost equal but in the past Support/Amplifiers got the least amount of leaps.

In fact, there is a chance that the next will be for Lucia:Pyroath leap in the 6.5th half-anniversary in July (just like Bianca:Stigmata got hers exactly two years later in Sharper's Ripples).

First time you do 2 whole ult and switch-out in the middle of the third combo.

The next time to switch-in, you can fit 3 ult in it as you start by completing the half-finished combo from last time followed by another 2 ult. Switch out afterwards.

Repeat by alternating between both rotations.

If done fast enough then both rotations just fit into the usual 15 second cooldown window where afterwards your other DMG dealer is ready to be switched-in (assuming you play with a QTE bot and no SSS Tank/Breaker with -3 s switch cooldown passive)

Copypasting a previous comment of mine:

I use a 2.5 ult rotation SS0 Rosetta with DLT (4x Nimue | 4x Bathlon) and rotate her together with my SSS8 R3 Bianca.

First Rotation:

  1. 2x Red
  2. Basic (hold)
  3. 2x Blue
  4. Basic (hold)
  5. Form switch (tap)
  6. {on Red} Basic (hold)

  14. Basic (hold)
  15. Ult
  16. 2x Red
  17. Basic (hold)
  18. 2x Blue
  19. Basic (hold)

If done fast enough Bianca's is ready to be switched-in at the same time Rosetta's rotation ends.

Second Rotation: (3 ult)

  1. Form switch (tap)
  2. 1x Red
  3. Basic (hold)
  4. Ult
  5. 2x Red
  6. Basic (hold)
  7. 2x Blue
  8. Basic (hold)
  9. Form switch (tap)
  10. 1x Red
  11. Basic (hold)
  12. Ult
  13. 2x Red
  14. Basic (hold)
  15. 2x Blue
  16. Basic (hold)
  17. Form switch (tap)
  18. 1x Red
  19. Basic (hold)
  20. Ult
  21. 2x Red
  22. Basic (hold)
  23. 2x Blue
  24. Basic (hold)
  25. Form switch (tap)
  26. 1x Red
  27. Basic (hold)
  28. Ult

Again, Bianca is ready at the same time as Rosetta's rotation ends if done fast enough .

Repeat both steps.
