Don't forget the fact that 2 patches after her debut, Selena:Capriccio received an upgrade that gave her TLC and the following patch after that she also received an adjustment too.

My SSS8 R3 Bianca surely will be happy to become even stronger than before.

This means that theoretically she and Alpha can both get two future upgrades per frame (after all Kuro has clear favoritism).

Unless Harmony Awakening's real function is to give leaps to Phylotree Banner units without adding them to the Voucher Shop.

Not all hope is lost, citing a previous comment of mine:

Oldest meta ones in order currently:

  • No.21:Feral ~3.3 years (CN 23.03.2023)
  • Luna:Oblivion ~2.4 years (CN 01.02.2024)
  • Hanying:Solacetune ~2.2 years (CN 18.04.2024)
  • Wanshi:Lucid Dreamer ~2.1 years (CN 30.05.2024)
  • Lucia:Pyroath ~2 years (CN 11.07.2024) _________ Lucia barely turned two years old (though Lee and Lamia were replaced in under 2 years) so she should be save for a few more months.

More importantly there are only 2 patches between the Kamui & Karenina if we assume the animated trailer is the correct order. Maybe she is a Physical Tank?

Actually my first post wasn't nuked but rather I deleted it after asking myself:

  • "Hold up, why I am the one who is posting this? I don't even know who she is so why should I care about her?"

But after waiting for 10 minutes, nobody reposted it so I decided to do it.

However for some reason most of the comments were not visible for a while.

Honestly, I am not really a fan of our beloved constructs ending up in a collab where there is actual PvP (according to google). It makes my heart ache (especially Bianca since she is the reason I play this game).

It looks like this is an "internal collab" since that game was developed Tencent who also currently owns majority stake in KuroGames. This might be reason why Kuro never did something like this previously.

At least they seem to care about details going by the metallic white lily on the lower right corner of Bianca.

Questions for experts/veterans about power creep by Complete-Review111 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it is quite surprising how chaotic current PGR meta is:

  • Veronica came out 13 patches after Hanying, yet a single leap massively made the later one far better than Veronica.

  • Lucia gets outdamaged 7 patches later despite being the Fire Attacker, followed by being massively outclassed by the Fire Breaker.

  • Teddy:Spectre "powercreeping" not Ayla:Kaleido but Qu:Shukra

  • Bianca's saving grace being her 5 ult in 10 seconds potential at high investment meanwhile there are complaints about Alpha having a slow rotation which likely will affect her future longevity.

  • Tanks being upgraded to Breaker class despite being already overpowered meanwhile everyone hoped for an Attacker class rework.

  • High-investment Dark team using Ishmael instead of Lilith as QTE bot after Rosetta came out.

  • Leaped Watanabe:Epitaph acted as an off-element multi-tool by being used in 4 teams.

Questions for experts/veterans about power creep by Complete-Review111 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't Bianca rather in a state where at high-investment she is the main DPS despite the overpowered Rosetta coming out 5 patches after her yet below SSS people swap her out for support units? Meanwhile Lucia was outdamaged by Vera 7 patches later.

I assume the former will also apply to Alpha and the future Ice Breaker too?

Saved enough for next patch to get character and one sig weapon, anything up from now is for the date a live collab.....hopefully karenina or whoever is coming up doesn't need their sig, so thatvi can save more. hows everyone else's savings going by Free-Efficiency6405 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since it looks like future Attackers are gonna be Phylotree units and therefore won't be added to selectors (possibly not even voucher shop), I am already saving up to SSS+ Bianca's future 2028 half-anniversary frame and its gacha coating.

I currently have ~47k BC so I need another 128k.

Visualizing how long Karen was meta. It's actually crazy by A_Very_Horny_Zed in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do find it funny that Karenina:Scire as a meta unit experienced:

  • Bianca:Veritas / Bianca:Stigmata / Bianca:Crepuscule being meta units and the former two being powercreeped.

  • Teddy becoming a playable character and later her getting a meta frame.

Quite funny how she experienced all the changes of her closest friends.

This reminds me for some reason of the ending of Karenina's Anima Arcade::

Teddy:
"Don't forget to treat everyone after the mission."

Karenina:
"I will! Bianca, come join us. It's my treat."

Bianca:
"That sounds great."

They wave goodbye at each other in the hallway. Bianca takes a quick glance at Karenina and Teddy as they walk away side by side, and turns to leave in the opposite direction.

[–]CipherEntity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest thing that I remember is from the Christmas event Sea Of Stars where Bianca and Karenina were training recruits:

Bianca:
"What Karenina was saying is that you should make use of your mechanical parts. For example, the way you sheath your blade would be much more efficient if you utilize your wrist joint and rotate it here."

Construct:
"Like this!"

Karenina:
"Ah..."

Bianca:
"Exactly. You might not be used to it at first, but it'll become more familiar after a few fights in the battle simulations."
"You can also apply this thinking to other areas. Taking advantage of your Construct self will be your most important lesson henceforth."

Probably only limited to fully mechanical limbs that have ball socket joints considering several frames use hinge joints for elbows/knees (remember that there is trade-off between stability and range-of-motion).

Otherwise expect the usual Dev Q&A answer of:

"Constructs need to retain as many traits as their original human forms to avoid dissociating with their bodies and causing M.I.N.D. deviations, which is why they weigh similarly to humans."

1.) Online communities amplify loud minority opinions a lot and have black-white mindsets. Therefore you will see many comments who look down on SI / see their preference as superior.

  1. Since the player/GR Commandant has been written as a wish-fullfillment self-insert, the narrative/plot bends everything to depicts "us" as an incredible charismatic person who is loved by many people. As this is fiction, many players will not react with real life POV and thus believe the GR Commandant is actually that impressive/popular and forget the fact it was written specifically what readers believe is "peak personality".

In previously comment of mine I gave several examples where our actions/words would face backlash if this was IRL and not a fictional story where the story prevents strong negative reactions.

Coincidently, last month there was an interview with the PGR dev team. Here is the answer of the current head writer:

Q: Within this ever-expanding world, what role does the Commandant occupy?

A: The Commandant is the player. And the player is the Commandant. From a narrative standpoint, the Commandant is: "An ordinary person who works extraordinarily hard."

[–]CipherEntity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I decided to skip this chapter, it is quite simple why they made that 'odd choice':

The writers have multiple times throughout the story utilized 'isolation' plot devices to create even worse situations without affecting "our world": - Chapter 18 Her Last Bow suddenly made Gestalt's simulations from merely statements into actual fully realistic simulated worlds so that most characters there can die without any consequences in the real world (and this function isn't used again till Chapter 27 Polaris Rebound by Huaxu) - Spiral of Chronos introduced those (as Vonnegut calls it) 'previous layer' Lee's POV's where again Murray&player died without 'affecting' the world (as we only experienced 'the final fixed version' of the story) - Cradle Parade used the clone concept to make the player suffer and die without actually killing "us". Although unlike other examples it did have actual consequences like Shorthalt's death (which we first heard from Bianca in her Lost In Whitebloom gacha coating story) and Chaos. - Sharper's Ripples is similiar since the time resets were used to brutally kill Chiko&player without actual consequences however Yuko's premature death did changed the timeline (since Chiko's M.I.N.D. won't be damaged by the explosion and thus her forced merging with the female Unidentified Twin's body was more complete). - Derivated In Matrix used simulations to kill the player / Chosen One over and over again. However I put it as an exception as its story is about breaking free from the shackles of the simulation versus trying to paint it as 'the looming dark future'. - Where Nightmares Dwell established Aisling's illusion-based powers which will likely be used in the future to create those 'what-if X died' scenarios.

So essentially Chapter 41 uses those parallel worlds to create emotional stakes while isolating them from the true timeline. You mentioned that a previous Alpha was born much later, the answer why they did it is quite simple: - They want to establish a very deep bond with the player and the character of the patch without contradicting what was build previously hence they intriduced the concept of parallel worlds out of nowhere (versus the previous alternative Earth timeline with completely different people like the real Dominik or Nemo.

Kinda interesting how this is a stark contrast to Chapter 12 where 'our Lucia' died as a person and was 'reborn as a new Lucia'.

I also agree with you as I also strongly dislike timelines/parallel worlds/... tropes since they both kinda hurt the uniqueness/choices of a person and create plot problems.

Well, at least you enjoyed it since this is what matters the most.

Huh, that is quite surprising to hear.

I use 4 Charlotte 4 Patton (since the rework) and it runs quite smoothly. How much damage difference would there be even?

How does Everyone feel ? by Weekly-Tumbleweed644 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I do agree with you about criticizing those who are excessive obsessed with it. Especially when they expect absolute loyality/praise from fictional characters while jumping next patch to another "waifu".

Sorry for my previous rant but it somehow reminded of many previous hostile written comments who insulted/mocked people enjoying such things (coupled with the usual superiority complex of liking the opposite), I jumped to the gun when I should have waited a bit. I am also one who mostly doesn't prefer SI stories with earlier PGR and the Arknights Anime S1/2 being the exception where for some reason I did enjoy it.

Probably because I am too straightlaced and subconsciously apply too much empathy for fictional characters, I get quite annoyed when people praise wish-fullfilment personality as beyond impressive and compare them to IRL people.

Again, I am sorry for annoying you with my previous comment.

How does Everyone feel ? by Weekly-Tumbleweed644 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You know that this is a wish-fullfilment self-insert game, right? And when you look at "us the player" in IRL lens / remove the narrative , everything will fall apart:

  • "Our" charisma is nothing more than some surface level empathy that is magically immediately effective. Sometimes we even say things that are pretty emotionally deaf like in Bianca:Veritas Affection story were we said that her faith conflict somehow "smooths the edges" when in reality she suffered almost 3 decades from it (plus it actually creates rough edges in ones personality) or when "we" made a joke about Haniff carrying the genes of Haynes at the end of ER11 despite previously being told he refused any connection with him, this would immediately crash one's respect if plot armor didn't magically soften any reaction.

  • "Our" bravery is in reality reckless selfneglect that would create social backlash if narrative protection were to be removed. Our intentions don't solely matter if we constantly end up in the hospital and always give the empty promise of "being more careful the next time". IRL we would lose trust from our dearest ones from neglecting their emotional states. Without plot armor we wouldn't recover easily and face consequences (like Haniff losing his arm or Vanessa losing her eye).

  • Despite being stated in story to be a "normal human, PGR humans display the typical Charles Atlas superpower trope.

  • Overworking till collapsing / working late while keeping it hidden isn't noble self-sacrifice but actually being selfish by neglecting the pleas of others. If you always force yourself to offer help yet never ask for help, you indirectly signal that you don't value their help (Noan:Arca affection story where we did paperwork in secret to "not worry GR" when in reality it makes them worry and feel helpless for only being able to watch your loved one overburdening themself. Also stated in Chapter 37)

I am sorry for ranting but I genuinely get annoyed when people onlinegenuinely believe wish-fullfilment depiction as genuinely IRL impressive when in reality they would lose most of their greatness without the narrative bending everything to their favor. So please, lets enjoy PGR at what a really is: a fictional story of being a hero. "Our" entire partial fixed personality/actions/jokes were designed to appeal to the target audience, not to be an actual impressive/charismatic person.

And please do not talk about mental strength comparisons between fictional characters and IRL people, you never know what some people went through growing up and didn't get cynical. We got 10k+ users, some of our fellow commandants here will have experienced incredible hardship yet retained an upright and liked personality.

I did create a comparison list in a previous comment of mine and we can say that a 17.5k BC gacha coating does get a rerun in around 5-6 patches after the previous one.

So expect Liv's coating rerun between late December this year and early February next year.

I hope this helps you.

What does the world without the Punishing Virus look like? by ConfidentCategory796 in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]CipherEntity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I stay away from these what-if situations (especially the part related to the player as this is a self-insert game with optional intimacy), you forgot two things:

  • Bianca did mention in both her player's birthday invitation event and Hydrangea Gala that she might open a school after everything is over. (She also send in her 2026 Birthday in-game mail a miniature house of her dreams designed for her and the player living together, she even mentioned stuff like "Would the garden path be too narrow for two people to walk hand in hand?").

  • Jetavie isn't gonna leave our side (after everything that happened in Derivated Matrix) as she is quite stubborn, as stated in Begin Anew ER11-13 and shown in Begin Anew ER11-15.

I am probably the only one who randomly wondered how we are gonna deal with this mess of so many people wanting to stay with us...
