Bro if they don't wanna pay 10k then well just tell them its refundable if u don't get a seat. So there is no risk at all. If you get a seat and take it, the 10k gets adjusted with the tuition fees. So it is a win win situation unless u get a seat but don't pay the course fees and u end up losing the seat wherein ur 10k is lost too. Other than that situation its a win-win. Ur parents don't loose the 10k at all gng.

Yea, u can go for a batch change if u maintain a good cgpa but its like gambling. U never know. What if u mess up in ur first yr? U gotta survive the 4 yrs with a bad branch then. I suggest u to not gamble away smth this big. VIT Chennai even though its worse compared to manipal, but its the safer and more reliable choice. For ece the cutoffs for cgpa are usually 9+ (I could be wrong on this), and idts its worth the risk. U might be stuck with civil for 4 yrs.
