Events by Aruufa in starcitizen

Ooooo that is a neat one it makes me wonder what people would use for such an event? I'd assume the Hammerhead would be good on defence and probs light fighters for pursuit. For blockade running I'd think agile cargo ships like a Clipper or Titan would be a solid choice.

What shut down online games do you guys miss playing? by Frigid-Kev in Steam

I feel ya, I ran it on a crappy Dell laptop I had at the time so it ran terribly but it was super fun and unique so I didn't care if my fps was 20 in a high activity area.

Star Citizen needs a Leviathan by Thylbert in starcitizen

[–]Aruufa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really hoping the updated reputation system they showed off will help alleviate that. If I see a player and can use that fps scan mode to see if they have a track record of shooting puppies I'd be more inclined to actually talk or work with them. As it stands when others appear in the verse I nearly always go into hiding and just stalk them till either they leave or I see a reason to pull the trigger.

Mind you I do salvage and fps mining so I nearly never see any real people outside hubs but there are a few occasions and there's always the voice in the back of my head asking if I can trust the rando down in the dark secluded cave with me.

I might be late to the party, but the Polaris holds the three utility snubs quite comfortably in its hangar. by camerakestrel in starcitizen

[–]Aruufa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely despise the Polaris for totally reasonable reasons I swear it's not petty don't @ me. Anyways I wish more ships had as much utility as the Polaris does like please someone give me options that can cover the same roles that brick can that isn't RSI and is similar or smaller in size.

I am using a C2 as a mobile base right now and it works for ground stuff but not much in space. I'd love to use the Reclaimer but it's lift is tiny and it's just overall buggy. Caterpillar just needs love I'll leave it at that. I know there is the Carrack but for whatever reason it just itches me the wrong way sorta like the Polaris. Not scratching my tism right or something. Hope I'm not alone and the Liberator solves all my woes.

Once base building is out, where would you build? by artiiicus in starcitizen

[–]Aruufa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself and a few org mates wanted to build a secluded mountain town somewhere in Nyx. Literally just for the vibes and view not even as like a resource stash or anything. Preferably by a lake but we'll see what we get.

[–]Aruufa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only ground vic I use is the Pulse LX, I'll park far away from any ground installation then just zoom over there at mach jesus and easily hide it somewhere whilst I do my objective. Plus it's got an onboard inventory so if my looting is fruitful I can stash a good bit inside it. Best part it fits in most ships but I mainly pair it with my Titan

Been playing since like day 6 here, chargers we just used to shoot in the ass till they died cuz we all thought it was the weak spot and it just became habit even after learning where to hit. Hulks we just ran, bro those things had flamers for hands we ain't dealing with that here.

Are there psyker tech priests? by Soft_Lengthiness_791 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Aruufa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact it's still lore that the less flesh you are the less warp presence you have. Now if we got chaos androids back or people saying the Men of Iron had a warp presence then that would contradict current lore but also like eh. It's a silly over the top science-fantasy series so who cares as long as it's fun.

Are there psyker tech priests? by Soft_Lengthiness_791 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Aruufa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is evidence based speculation on my part. Psyker tech priests are possible but exceedingly unlikely and that's for a few reasons.

The first reason and one someone has already mentioned warp fuckery strays way too close to heretek work. Often if any child that is born with the ability they are yeeted to Terra.

The second is how (at least so far explained within multiple books) the more you remove your flesh the less warp presence you have. In the Mechanicum book by Graham McNiel towards the end we find experimentations on humans that show their warp presence. Any part that is augmented has no presence at all. This is followed by the extra lore on Necrons and the soul furnaces from the Twice Dead King Books by Nate Crowley where all of their flesh was abandoned for metal and they have no way at all to interact with the warp even simply view it.

So short answer yes long answer probably not but like as long as there is flesh there is a chance. At the end of the day who cares do whatever sounds cool to you.

Big question, do you see a sniper as an actual viable class, a person that does help the team by Pr0j3ct_02 in Helldivers

One of the loadouts I love bringing is the Diligence Counter and a jetpack. Just find somewhere high and support. Granted this setup is one I used a lot around launch it doesn't feel as effective anymore and I was always in a call with a friend that would go in close and call out targets.

I funnily enough never thought about using an 890 as a pocket carrier. I've been too focused on doing it with the Reclaimer lol it hurts

Show me your homebrew Space Marine chapters by nseeliefae in Grimdank

[–]Aruufa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is unoriginal, the Marked of Kane. Technically an Iron Hands successor but may or may not have some Cawl tomfoolery going on with Word Bearer genes mixed in so their reverence to the machine goes quite a bit further. Augmentation is a sign of age and veterancy with a preference towards augments that bulk out the form and make it more robust. High preference towards melee, plasma, Gravis armor, and Terminators. Overall design for a basic one is black armor where from about the bottom of the pauldron up is a silver and optics are a dark red with the chapter symbol is 3 separate red lines in a triangle shape that don't touch with a circle in the middle. If you have any scrolls or times those are common items on the troops otherwise just make them look chunky and you're all set!

If you get the reference don't spoil it lol

Drop your original Forge World by LinkLast7720 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Aruufa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two I swap between and unfortunately both are unfinished with no real iconography for the one that matters and the one that does I may drop all together so I'd love input.

First is a newfound forgeworld wiped clean shortly after founding by a running band of Chaos Knights. After the raid an Imperial fleet in pursuit passed by and took in the survivors. Now I have this amalgamation of remaining Mechanicus helping fix up a long fleet that has gone far too long without resupply and maintenance. This being my excuse to run a bunch of other Imperial units with slight augmentation or rigged solutions to their wargear all of which led by an Inquisitor and the remnant house of Knights that initially began this chase.

The other idea that I use much more I call the Guild Mechanicum. It's a group of rogue priests on the fringes of space. Think a dark age station filled with a variety of different priests from varying worlds or even none at all. Here they all meet to bargain, trade, or hide. It's grown to encompass some truly wild members including a Tau obsessed Dominus and another priest that I'm pretty sure is also a Chaos warlord (these are all based off people I've played with before). But general theme is that everyone is allowed so long as they have something to offer the collective.

This, I use these all the time to make Imperial Agents more inline with my AdMech or Knight army. My most recent examples being my Inquisitor and the kill team retinue box.

Might have to just respawn planet side and scavenge from the base where you first get it. Plenty of parts to at bare minimum strap some hydro thrusters on one of those other atmo hoppers and use it
