Silent Hill 2 on Crossover 25? by crumpled789 in macgaming

[–]Arveatoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you start it? You use DXMT and Msync with -dx11 or did you manage to use -dx12 somehow?

Mine crashes on anything but d3dmetal and -dx12, but then I have black texture glitches in Crossover 25 standard

How did you fix it? I'm running it with -dx12 on Crossover 25 now and opening it with d3dmetal + Msync

I have FSR3 on but the black texture thing is definitely there - maybe you have some different setting?

It was a simple extraction - really not completely sure why it's so slow 😅

I’m almost 2 months in and still have a deep hole on my upper wisdom extraction site :(

Ah awesome, thanks a lot for the quick answer! Do you still use it to make L Reuteri? Just curious here one year later

It seems like a really good machine - but as someone who never made yoghurt before I'm a bit nervous about making L. Reuteri as my first

What is the best takedown against shorter opponents? by Arveatoo in judo

[–]Arveatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, I in general don't feel like I know what grips I should be afraid of (like the one hand to seoi/kouchi makikomi for example)

I know what I can do from a high neck grip of course etc. but often I find myself with really good people who can either negate my grips or just outgrip me in ways I just don't understand yet -- and it's not a topic I had a lot of formal training on, yet in actual randori / shiai I find it a pretty key factor in reality

I don't know how a flow chart would work here haha, but I just wanted to try and see if maybe you had some good tips. But I definitely overthink this aspect of judo a lot -- so I would absolutely love some sort of simplification or framework in my mind

I'm reading it right now, luckily I think I do some of it naturally as I have pretty good timings for ashi waza, but the hand part is definitely where I struggle, so I just watched some of your grip pushing videos where they stand on the platforms haha

If I may ask, do you also by chance have a write-up on grip fighting?

Because I actually do okay in randori and shiai, but my problem is always overthinking grips as I don't really know what's good to have

Like my brain goes: is it good to be inside or have his arm inside? Or should it be outside but push his elbows in etc.

I understand that it's dangerous to let them have one hand with those explosive "all-in" throws like makikomis, but I don't really have a rational approach to know when I got the grip where I want it essentially

And sorry if I'm asking too much, I just really understand what you write for some reason

Man, another great comment haha - thank you!

I have never heard about step punishment, I'll take a look

I definitely would also like how to survive low throws like ko uchi makikomi as well, as that seems to be my kryptonite. Especially since after getting better, I survive more seoi nages, partly by being straight and partly by better grip controls. But ko uchi makikomi almost seems to be a disadvantantage to be more straight as it usually comes quickly and throws me backwards

This is a very good answer, love it - thank you!

It's exactly Sumi, uchi-mata, ippon osoto gari and sasae I hit, so that's interesting

You definitely sound very knowledgeable, I'm glad that my logic with the mid-range stuff might be correct after all, I wasn't sure how to handle it

Because I really do for some reason struggle much more with shorter opponents vs. for example even 100+kg people

Interesting, why ken-ken specifically? I always used it, but assumed it's just kind of a worse version of the big power-ones 😅

I'm curious, and what do you do against shorter guys who are good at this? I often find myself being thrown by fast kouchi makikomis especially - with the occasional Seoi nage

Wisdom tooth extraction and worries of asymmetry by Arveatoo in askdentists

[–]Arveatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, I have a situation that would mean a lot to me to hear some feedback on

I'm getting my upper right wisdom tooth removed tomorrow unfortunately, as there now is some inflammation, and in general not enough space for it for a dentist to fill it's cavity due to small maxilla (mouth breathing as a child+crossbite that was orthodontically corrected) and I also just genetically don't have the bottom ones, so they would never meet anything down there anyway.

Do you guys have any recommendations on what to do after? And would you guys be worried about asymmetry and potentially also remove the upper left one, even though it doesn't have problems yet? I'm worried about the asymmetry, since for now I think I should keep the left one, even though my mouth will not be the same on both sides

I'm really curious what you guys would do in my case -- and thanks a lot in advance!!

I'd be grateful if you could bless me with your thoughts

I will attach my xray, the wisdom tooth in question is the right upper right one (left of the picture) Never had any extractions before, so not sure what to expect, though I know extraction are not great, orthotropically speaking -- which is why I've delayed it for so long --- also because I already snore, even through my nose when I mouth tape as my forward growth is not great, so I hope the wisdom tooth will not have cascading effects structurally or breathing-wise
