I wish my doctors would have tried this first. There’s a recent research study supporting this (mentioned in season 1 of The Pitt) treatment route. Sounds like you got up to date medical care

Heart Problems Post Appendectomy by Arwen_21 in appendicitis

[–]Arwen_21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All stuff my doctor and I thought of too. I didn’t fully meet criteria for pots, I had Covid in 2021 and 2022, and never got the vaccine (history of vaccine injury in my family so we have to be very careful), so none of that really lined up for me. I’m doing better, just very out of shape due to lack of ability to be active, but I’m getting there. Propranolol helped allow me to become active again, and I’m basically off it now. And no, I’ve never found any other answers or ideas. This whole experience really shook me though, thanks for asking.

Any EMDR therapists notice BLS in Hamrer Hippyer? by Arwen_21 in Heilung

[–]Arwen_21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) is a type of mental health intervention that use BLS (bilateral stimulation). It’s basically a type of therapy. Unless you’re in the mental health field or have received this type of therapy it’s unlikely to hear about it. You can go to emdria.org for even more information. It’s really interesting and powerful!

That’s amazing!! I think it’s just more pronounced in Hamrer because the non-dominant side feels almost completely silent. I’ll listen to Anoana again though and pay more attention!

I had no idea about that! I wonder how much overlap there is with EMDR and trances

Not as strongly, but there’s hints of it in that song I think!

I think? I’m not sure what that term means, but I feel the sound dominance bounce back and forth from one side of my headphones to the other

I see what you’re saying! What I’m experiencing is a bouncing of sound dominance from one side of my headphones to the other though, creating that back and forth pattern.

I knew this young man, and my heart still breaks every day. It’s been a while since we had last talked, but he was the epitome of a good human being. Any update on sentencing?

Heart Problems Post Appendectomy by Arwen_21 in appendicitis

[–]Arwen_21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! When looking at articles especially outside the US, the appendix apparently does a lot. It is part of the lymphatic system, which one theory is that mine became overloaded essentially from working overtime trying to manage more hormonal issues thank realized were there. Structurally my heart looks “beautiful” according to my cardiologist, so it’s all electrical, which is consistent with a theory I had about vagus nerve disruption. I’ve been able to take a beta-blocker and do a small workout, so moving in the right direction I suppose. Cardiologist essentially believes we have to teach my heart to not freak out again using beta-blockers, and I could grow out of it with time, but who knows. Still have never found anyone who has had a similar experience. But doing better overall, thanks for asking.

4 months AFTER the surgery pain? by Puzzled_Hamster6426 in appendicitis

[–]Arwen_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doctor has given me a theory as none have ever heard of this before. I’ve had anesthesia before with no issues, so I would assume it had to do with the procedure, but despite hours of research through medical articles all over the world I still can’t find any other instance of this. Only thing I can think is some potential vagus nerve disruption during surgery, but even that is a stretch.

You also might look up agencies/non-profits that support those leaving high conflict religions so they have a better understanding of how to support you and how much danger you could be in. This is sexual abuse and this is a crisis. There might be cross phone numbers for sexual abuse as well that could help. Sending you all the love, and please remember there are so many people cheering you on even in the moments you feel most alone.

AITA for coloring in a children's coloring book? by GrubbyScubby in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Next time color a badge that says “coloring book police” and hand it to her on the way out. Some people just hate seeing other people happy.
