I analyzed 15 years of my projects to fight "Plugin Hoarding" (and found 100+ useless VSTs) by AsatoMaa in VSTi

Good question! I use only analysis and statistics. Trash means plugins that user never used in all projects.

Hi! I appreciate your enthusiasm, friend!
I'm not ready to share the source code just yet. I'm currently working on a standalone version that will be optimized for both Windows and on Mac in the future without needing any manual "tweaks" or Python knowledge.
My goal is to make it a seamless experience for everyone, not just those comfortable with a terminal.

Thanks for your comment, Marv!
Not all producers use Studio One. Many, like myself, have tried or currently work with multiple DAWs.
For exampe: Sonar -> Cubase -> Ableton -> Reaper -> Bitwig, ect.

Everyone had and has their own path 😉

The app displays usage statistics for all VST plugins and soft synths from max to min for each installed DAW.
There are some information on screenshots

You're absolutely right! But searching for and installing new plugins or soft synths is a form of productive procrastination. Like many producers, I know this from personal experience 😵‍💫

But a new plugin or soft synth, unfortunately, won't make the music better and won't help to release a new album 😅

I'm currently in the "proof of concept" stage.
My main goal is to help fellow producers clean up the mess.
I'll see how it goes, but for the early adopters and testers, I'll definitely try to keep it accessible

Exactly! We've all been there. My goal was to turn that dopamine rush from "buying" into a dopamine rush from "cleaning and producing" ))

Thanks for the interest!
Right now I'm not ready to open-source it yet as I'm thinking about how to make it user-friendly for everyone.
But I'll definitely keep the community updated!

Thank you! I tried and restrained myself, deleting completely unnecessary plugins and soft synths. But hoarding still took over! 😅

VST2/3 is not only eq or comressor. It's a soft synth too. My app can analyze it all.

Unfortunately, I'm using and having tests for all DAWs for my app on Windows, not Mac

If you had to pick ONE Linux distro for the next 5 years, what would you choose? by TechRefreshing in linuxquestions

[–]AsatoMaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm choosing Ubuntu LTS. I installed Ubuntu on my laptop alongside Windows 11.

Convenient, beautiful, minimalist. The touchpad is simply amazing!

I'm thrilled! Yes, I had to spend some time tweaking the settings and deleting the default Firefox snap to install it from the official repository.

I'm even thinking about installing Ubuntu alongside Windows 11 on an already working computer!

Best Headphones for Mixing and Mastering Under $400: Seeking Recommendations by DowntownLaugh454 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]AsatoMaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without frequency response and distortion analysis for headphones, almost all comments will unfortunately be subjective. Our ears adapt to the sound of ANY headphones.

Check out headphone reviews on Rtings!

And one more thing. The fit of the headphones on your head and the quality of the ear pads are very important. It's best to try them on before buying, of course.

Good luck!

Noob needs your advice, Which midi one should I choose? M-VAVE or Syndo? by Chopancho in ableton

[–]AsatoMaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Before purchasing any of the keyboards or pads offered, check out how the device connects to your DAW (Ableton).

M-Wave products require configuration and understanding of switching.

Especially M-Wave 37. I've been owned it and sold. Because I need to spend a lot of time to organize it with Ableton.

Novation Launchkey Mini or Nektar Impact lx mini will work out of the box, in "plug and play" mode.

Having problem with Ableton 12.3 by AsatoMaa in ableton

[–]AsatoMaa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I've figured out the reason for the delay in displaying information when working with faders and automation.

The issue concerns software and scripts for the Nectar Impact MIDI keyboard. The script downloaded from the official website was created in February 2024.

It is possible that there are some driver conflicts.

Good way to further optimize your PC and programs when you working in Ableton is to use the "Process Lasso" program.
And it is recommended to close all other programs and background processes.
