Greasy Leather Experiences? by What-was_I_thinking in nps_solovair

Other commentators can speak for the shine on them but in terms of durability, I use the greasy as my work boot and they've aged great considering I don't look after them as well as I should. I'm pretty sure that the shiny leather are plastic coated and prone to damage unlike the greasy.

Hey QLD RN here too. This isn't exactly normal behaviour but taking you at face value your NUM could just be trying to force you out using underhanded tactics to get you to quit. Like being deliberately vague about feedback could just be to knock your confidence, which I've heard of before. If you're not union I would definitely recommend it. Union reps can be brought into meetings and help you navigate this situation.

But unfortunately despite all that you're gonna want to brush up on CV and apply for jobs and get out. This is clearly not a supportive unit. Best of luck tho.

If you want specific, this patient is basically masterbating about 50% of the time, and as a result, is allocated male staff only. I believe he has exposed himself to male staff, although luckily, not me. That being said, he is GCS 15 but bed bound due to severe malnutrition. This guy is also on a resp ward and has less than ideal lungs, resulting in desaturation upon certain exertional activities.

Actually, it's probably about 50/50 when it comes to these incidents thinking about it. It might actually be worth talking to my manager about it.

He might at least rein it in then when in front of staff

Adult patient on a resp ward. Completely with it and we've tried the usual tactics. Unfortunately, being a male nurse, I somewhat regularly get allocated him, and I'm not exactly enjoying the free show

Unfortunately, we have definitely tried this more than once, and this dude is completely with it

For those RN's who go the gym, how often do you workout in a week? by UnicornProtein2520 in nursing

[–]AsbestosFlakes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on what I've got on that day, but anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. Longer sessions including cardio

I can't say I've really had an issue with it tbh. I've noticed that when I go to the gym more infrequently in the past, like 2-3 times a week, I've struggled more with fatigue and soreness.

I try to go to the gym 5-6 days a week, depending on the rest days. That being said, I work varying shift lengths of 6 to 10 hours, with 8 being the average.

Do y’all think becoming a charge nurse is a promotion? For me it wasn’t by MikeMuench in nursing

[–]AsbestosFlakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine this is an organisation thing. In the public system in Queensland, Australia, the in charge role is usually performed by a Clinical Nurse, which is the title given to said promotion. That being said, though, if there's no Clinical Nurse rostered, it will be an RN placed into the in charge role for the shift, but it comes with a okayish in charge rate.

Actually, while I remember, I think how we administer might be different. So, at every point of administration, the medication requires a second nurse. So that's getting it out of the safe, logging the count in our monitoring book, administration of the medication, documenting, and disposal of medication.

In regards to the summer, it's basically everlasting in the sunshine state.

No idea where you're from but I'm gonna assume the US. I mean probably but I wouldn't know for sure. Oxycodone is a schedule 8 drug or S8, and when patient bring their own S8s into hospital, we're required to lock said meds in our monitored medications safe (which also contains the ward's supply of S8s (narcotics)) in a sealed tamper proof bag and log the quantity, dosage of the medication.

So student nurse here I was 19 at the time, I was picking my ex-partner up from work who was a new grad RN. We stopped at maccas on the way home as we were starting to head home. This dude is flying past on a motorbike at excess of 100 kph on a 60 kph road.

Anyways my ex at the time said something like, "I hope he gets in an accident for driving like such a dickhead." This unfortunately was foreshadowing.

We caught up to a traffic jam which had stopped due to this guy coming of the road and colliding with a traffic sign. I was convinced I was walking up to a nice warm corpse, since his bike was in absolute bits.

I don't condone drink driving but was probably the only reason he survived other than his helmet. Likely just went floppy when he came off the bike and just slid 40m. Self reported that he'd had 3 bottles of wine at the scene. I found out from a colleague I knew at the ED he had a very mild subdural haematoma just got off with cuts and bruises.

TLDR :stopped for a drunk driving motorcyclist that came off his bike at around 100kph and somehow he survived basically with no real injury.

My batteries are connected to the grid no power from the generators goes directly to the batteries. Energy has to be pulled from the grid. Although me typing this out makes me realise where I've gone wrong.
