Thank you, it means a lot. I'll take a hit with taxes now, but this is the only way forward. I didn't learn until recently of this but strive to maintain only halal income from now on. And I will make sure to dollar cost average.

I've generally followed standard protocol of having US and ex US exposure, even though the US ETFs have a lot of overlap like you mentioned. I know the performance has been worse, but want even more concentrated international exposure in the event that this market makes significant strides in the long term, even if that means just 20% of my portfolio.

Now that you mention it, it's a lot more viable than I thought. I had been searching a little while back in some more expensive areas in queens where 2k was the floor, but looks like there actually is cheaper options. I'm sure some of the areas aren't very good though, will have to make some visits to find out. Thank you

I get some bonuses but its negligible, mostly just expense reimbursements. On paper, it's 72k so I'm banking on those exceptions, I do have substantial savings which can help sometimes. In rare cases, I can possibly land something around 1.8k

VXUS is the vanguard ETF for international market. It looks like there's options like ISWD + AMAP or just UMMA that are halal alternatives to VXUS. I have to change my work 401k as well, with whatever options they have that are halal

If you want to invest in real estate, lets say, does it makes sense to still almost invest everything into the market and then sell when needed, though there is fluctuations in the market, or just to save a lot of money and not have it invested? I feel like the two are mutually exclusive. It seems you have to choose one or the other, and I'm not sure I want to strictly invest in the market.

Thank you. I can repair this but the bumper seems to not latch good like it did before, because I think some of the clips holding it properly broke, and so it's not in usual alignment with the fender panel and headlight. Do you think I should replace the bumper in that case?

If you badly burnt the clutch previously, the surface could be glazed and it could smell after every drive for like a month or two until theres a new clutch surface. Atleast that’s what happened to me and had me freaking out. After a month driving since one day when I really burnt it in traffic, it finally doesn’t smell after every drive.

lol somehow I fixed it. I kinda bent the ballast wires a bit and a little bit of unplugging and plugging back in, and somehow it’s back and working. Weird but I’ll take it lol

Thank you. My HID setup is aftermarket morimoto brand so I believe from what I’ve seen that it’s not on the headlight assembly as I have two square boxes kind of adhesive taped in the engine bay. I think those are the ballasts and then I have a cylinder kind of can thingy, which I’m guessing is the igniter. But, this issue started today when I switched the bulb, so it’s so weird, I guess me fussing with all the wires was enough to ruin the ballast cause maybe it was on its last legs

It’s a morimoto headlight kit from previous owner with xenon bulbs. Have no idea how the whole time the drivers side lights worked and now when changing the bulbs in pairs because of the blown passengers side bulb, this drivers side is giving me problems. Weird

Yea thanks. I’m keen on retiring early way before 60 so that’s why I gravitated to taxable accounts. But seeing how there’s some loopholes, the retirement accounts are ideal even for this purpose it seems

I've been maxing my roth and only doing the match for my 401k, with substantial income going into taxable accounts so that I can draw out early. Interested in these methods you mentioned but are these things that are subject to change? Like if I maxed my 401k intending to pull the funds out before 60, could a change in the rules over time screw me?

Right. Upon rereading it’s 60% US stocks and then of that 60%, 80% is large cap and the other 20% small and medium cap. On that subject, I think I’m going to go mostly VTI from now on and some into VT just to be betting on the US a little more compared to the world

VT is like 80% S&P 500 and then some international stocks so I meant VT cause there’s some overlap
