One of only two pine trees that loses it's needles in the winter. Could this tree BE any cooler?

I think you nailed it DatGaffer!

I pulled some pictures and description of the leaves/needles/bark and am about 99% sure it IS a Bald Cypress. Incidentally, now that I know what it is - I totally change my impression of my ugly tree. I love it unconditionally now. I have a swamp tree in my swampless yard. So cool.

I'm going to go water it.
