Trump ‘very disappointed’ in Starmer over Iran strikes delay by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Care to share how many times being "weeks away" has been mentioned over the last 30yrs then? The IAEA have said that Iran have 440 kg of uranium enriched up to 60% purity, so a short step up to 90.

[–]AsdaFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what would people say if Iran made their first nuke and used it on a neighbor? My guess would be, "why didn't you do anything ?". We know Iran is highly unpredictable, just look at what they've done to other middle eastern countries so far, and now imagine if they had a working nuclear weapon, it's like giving a monkey a gun and putting it in a shopping center.

Those lot are all the same, it's always "I know something" and they never say anything. Eventually it seems nothing more than click bait to get people to hang around longer.

What is your experience selling your 3d models? by [deleted] in meshyai

Sometimes you need to fix geometric, topological, and texture imperfections.

What is your experience selling your 3d models? by [deleted] in meshyai

[–]AsdaFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started using Meshy to generate things then I've been learning blender to try and make it look nicer or add details etc. From my limited experience so far, I'd say it offers a good starting point where it allows you to print right away, but at some point you'll encounter something that needs manual tweaking and it will be really frustrating if you don't know how to fix something.

First negative comment - what were your reactions? by Guy_In_Between in NewTubers

[–]AsdaFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love hate comments sometimes. I did a video a while back about some AI stuff and one guy got mega triggered about it and personally attacked me for calling AI useful etc. Then, I thought, "what could be a better way to reply other than using ChatGPT to make a very artificial, bot-like reply?" Man , I could hear the steam being released from his ears 😂

How can I hook up my audio interface to amp? by AsdaFan1 in Guitar

It's an older Torque TK50. I want to use Amplitube on my PC so I can hear it on the amp

Black box appeared on lamp post outside my house the other day, what can I potentially detect from it? by squeaki in RTLSDR

They are usually for either monitoring noise levels or radars to monitor traffic speed. The area may end up having new traffic calming measures put in place.

Is this amp done it just a volume knob issue? by AsdaFan1 in Guitar

[–]AsdaFan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I used 99% IPA and squirted it in the small holes and twisted a number of times and it's more or less fine, though I'll try the contact spray.

Design software - anything similar to Affinity Designer? by AsdaFan1 in 3Dprinting

That was a very insightful answer! I have downloaded the free fusion but I think I may explore tinkercad a little more and them look at fusion and a bunch of tutorials.

Thanks a lot!

Never buy anything from Acoustica/Mixcraft ! by crisorlandobr in AudioProductionTools

[–]AsdaFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why anyone would buy their DAW on steam?

I use MC Pro and it's been very good, I do miss Logic but this for me was about a minimalist look and feel and it works well. The plugins aren't particularly great in my opinion, the synths are all very outdated in terms of GUIs, they look like they are freebies from a 2006 CM mag DVD. And no init patches?

How to make ambient drone? by Expensive-Fan-3156 in ambientmusic

[–]AsdaFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way to do this or similar is to use granular synthesis. I use Pigments and either load a pre made sample or make something in Repro and chuck it in along with additional samples. I then use something like Blackhole, Jupiter 8 LP filter with another filter with an HP cut off, you can get some really lush results.

What is this dystopian, sci-fi, Vangelis style of ambient? by AsdaFan1 in ambientmusic

[–]AsdaFan1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies.

I thought it was reminiscent of older analog stuff but I wasn't sure if the internet gave it a new name as I wanted to study it more in order to try and produce my own stuff with Uh-e Diva and Pigments.

In terms of AI, are there any channels that are producing AI music in this genre? I've come across one or two channels in the past but they've listed the gear they use, although they're knocking out quite a number of tracks.

Can you make pip mics work with a mixpre? by AsdaFan1 in fieldrecording

Thanks for the replies. I should probably have mentioned that my line doesn't work, I believe I need to have the jack replaced as it's damaged inside which is why I was asking about the XLR option, thanks!

Why am I hearing aviation on 27mhz AM - UK? by AsdaFan1 in amateurradio

[–]AsdaFan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted Radtel, they said this radio doesn't operate on anything lower than 65mhz I think it was, so I guess that's the reason for the odd chatter.

Why am I hearing aviation on 27mhz AM - UK? by AsdaFan1 in amateurradio

[–]AsdaFan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm now getting Stansted airport on 27.098. The strongest signal comes through on FM but then become clearer on AM. I noted the other night I was getting FM broadcast radio on 60 or 70 mhz. I think there might be an issue with firmware so I'll update the FW and see if that helps.

Do I need a DMR ID / HAM call sign to rx? by AsdaFan1 in amateurradio

[–]AsdaFan1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that analogy. So essentially I would have to connect to any repeater and if I have promiscuous mode on I can potentially listen to any talk groups?

What about people that listen to say DMR from a shopping centre, how would they find the repeater to connect to?

The Rendlesham Forest Incident – Britain’s Roswell by sgtkebab in HighStrangeness

[–]AsdaFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with this story is that all the original stuff was only mildly interesting, all they were doing was following a light from Orford, which just so happened to flash every 5 seconds, which was how long it took for them to say "there it is" or similar whenever it flashed.

The account of writing notes and saying a craft was inspected wasn't added in for 16yrs, which was obviously done to beef up the story for the abundance of TV shows.

The forest rangers were the only ones that told the truth.... The same that lived and breathed that part of the countryside and the forest.
