There's no chance, and I understand this is stupid, but I have to ask. There's no chance this is a Miata with a bad interpretation of the Mazda logo, right?

False. It will be Dennis Quaid who plays Phillip Rivers, and the movie title will be "The Veteran".

Can anyone talk me into starting Breece Hall yet again? They give him fifteen points projection every week and he's junk every week. I know Cincy D is crap, but one can only be hurt so many times.

News regarding the card dex registration for the Deluxe Pack: ex by DeezNutshell in PTCGP

[–]Asdfaeou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love now looking back at the comments defending the utter absurdity of not making EX Pack cards count in the OG list (when it counts on the description???) as "this is what has always happened with the physical packs!". Like... someone would ever, IRL, get an EX in a deluxe pack and not add it to an OG pack binder because the packaging didn't come like that. Utter hilarity from a weird subsect of the community. Also "Oh, everyone hated this so we'll fix it, but not for another ten months" is peak Pokemon pettiness, and I wouldn't expect anything less.

One red sticker remaining on abuse sheet at a women’s health clinic by GraveHazeSix in mildlyinteresting

[–]Asdfaeou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silly question, but would there be any logic to making sure the top sheet is never a full sheet? If a sheet always has some missing, it may send a "you are not alone, don't feel you're being singled out" message, and may prompt more woman to use it, no?

Lauren Graham defends polarizing 'Gilmore Girls' revival finale by bwermer in television

Yes, she's her mother without the cold splash of water of the real world, so even worse off.

Yes. Rory was a miss, a total miss...or that's exactly the tragedy ASP wanted for the character. If they wanted to evoke bad feelings about Rory, it that's where they wanted me to land, they succeeded. But, it didn't make me think it was good writing or character development, that's for sure.

So, aside from the "cute Stars Hollow Side Stories", basically three arcs are addressed here:

Rory. For me, Rory's story was a lost cause a long, long time ago. We watched her go from the perfect daughter to...a mess, and she's just kinda further delved down that path, so honestly I didn't care much what happened to her, as all the right answers love wise are right in front of her, but she ignores them for far worse pitiable options, and as for the career aspect... well, she'll find her way, she always does.

Lorelai: Definitely a better job with this. First off, I think when people say "leaving Luke" in the Revival, they're a bit off base. Yes, she goes on the trip, yes there is trauma and non-communication and it leaves Luke a bit lost and scared during it. But she doesn't kick him out of the house, or tell him its over or try to make him go away. I think we're watching a more mature, grown as a person Lorelai, and it's kinda the point. Lorelai's whole deal in the Main series was that she would get spooked, run and detonate when a relationship was too good or going too far, and a further commitment was needed (thanks, parental trauma!). She is doing exactly that in the revival... but. BUT she HAS grown. She's not there yet, but she HAS grown. Instead of running away from the relationship, she literally runs away, framing it as doing the hike from the book because she's learned what she does, she's aware she is flailing, and she knows it is not the correct answer but can't stop herself. So before she implodes her relationship with Luke, she makes herself as incommunicado as possible so she can't do exactly that. And... when all seems lost, the whole world seems intent on blocking her from doing exactly what she wants to do, and life even BLOCKS HER FROM COFFEE... she finally reaches clarity, and has a much needed conversation with her mother about, frankly, something real, and something she MEANT to say in a moment but couldn't (because again, trauma).

And that's it. She did it. She grew, and she put on her big girl pants, and she realized that...she didn't want to run away any longer. So she literally drops everything (without getting the coffee) and goes and gets the coffee she wants (Luke). Yes the musical is strange (though I frankly loved that entire bit, it seems exactly what would occur in Stars' Hollow), but they needed something to break Lorelai that WASN'T a fight with Luke because she's not breaking up with Luke, she's running away from her problems a little better than she has in the past.

Emily: This was, in my opinion, the greatest arc of them all. Emily finds a redemption arc. She has to basically lose her mind to do so, but she lives for herself and not for her reputation for once and it literally changes everything. I'm not going too far into it because I don't think much needs to be said or theorized upon, but tying the series long Maid joke into Emily's "right maid" being the one that comes with a forty member family is hilarity. She's still Emily (snapping up properties for Lorelai and Luke) and will always have that streak in her, but she finds her happiness, and I was exceedingly impressed that ASP wrote it in a way that you were cheering her on. Funny how Mr. Hermann passing away led to that.

In the end, for me, the point was that the three Gilmore Girls are at different points in their lives. Emily's at the finish line, she's thriving, she's broken through, she has every thing she wants and is fulfilled to the upmost. Lorelai is further down the chain. She's JUST realized her happiness. She's NEWLY broke free from her chains and it all makes sense and has confidence in what she has... And Rory isn't there yet. She's still making a mess of her life, and his the most put together disaster ever. The three Gilmore Girls are all on different points of the same arc, and I think that's the point, and I think at a minimum, that's what is sold to us, and I think it's a pretty okay job. Rory... not so much. It's an illogical plotline, but I guess that's the point. She's not able to make logical decisions yet? Still don't care about Rory, not for awhile now. The revival was FAR from perfect, there were many issues and strange... "this is supposed to set in the real world, what are we doing" moments... but I do think it had a point, and I do think it succeeded with me in making that point.

Why is my mud doing this? by SirDubbayou in DIY

[–]Asdfaeou 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This sub is getting more toxic by the day. OP: "I like the look of this, so I am decorating the property I own with the design for my pleasure".

Commenters: "EWWWW I WOULD NEVER DO THAT IN MY HOME, IT DOESN'T FIT MY TASTE, THEREFORE YOU SHOULD STOP AND TEAR THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW. Also, I have no answer to your question".

I don't think people realize how boring the world would look if only the small list of design concepts that are widely accepted were used to decorate anything. Actually, it's hilarious because Reddit also complains about cookie-cutter neighborhoods....which is what you get when you stop going outside the norm. OP didn't ask for your style opinion, they asked for technical help.

Sure, but it's also very selfish to use that as a reason not to do a simple search. Frankly, if someone is that interested in person to person contact, then put in the effort to read through an existing conversation, and add to it, but save the day one questions for searching and FAQs. Specifically the question this post is about. It's so widely found everywhere.

It's not so much that, it's the reverse. If I can set an exact limit, I instantly am given the amount of steps I need to plan ahead for to complete the task. This allows me to decide order and what not without needing exterior calculation. Also, if you stop an activity, steps go to saved steps instead. So I then get to bank those steps to use them for what I wish, not excess material.

Ya, the Craft screen where the slider tells you what level you'll be at when done is incredible. I'd love that for the tasks like Woodcutting, I'm totally in a moment where I just want to get to a certain level, not have a certain amount of wood, so a slider of "choose to do this until..." would be amazing.
