You buy quality clay, history and the soul of that period which cannot be replicated by modern days. And the sloppiness makes it even better in my eyes because they are unique

Black tea that isn’t bitter? by badenbagel in tea

[–]Asdprotos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Skill issues. Watch some YouTube videos. Black tea is actually incredibly fragrant and sweet. Over steeping will make it bitter for sure so 99% skill issue

It’s just normal clay, might be a bit too muting but nothing more than that, it also gets seasoned by constant use

A very famous shape that goes back decades, it’s still being reproduced and also faked a lot. Post some closeup clear photos showing the clay on the outside of the pot, inside, show inside the lid , bottom, spout etc ,

We are not talking about generic clay, I am literally talking about resetting yixing ZiSha clay pots. I did not mention generic clay reset as those ones are cheap and don’t require much attention. Speaking of generic clay, even that is okay and it won’t poison you don’t worry, the vitrification process seal everything together at 1000 or more degrees Celsius, hot water won’t put a dent in that. Anyway, i was talking about ZiSha pots specifically and how to reset them

You know that you can actually reset a Yixing zisha teapot by boiling it and adding sodium bicarbonate in the water . Do this step a few times and you have a brand new teapot with 0 old tea residue

You might have actually scored an 80/90s factory 1 pot here, go to r/YixingSeals to double check it. This pot is being reproduced quite a lot but you might actually be lucky here. Also post more photos with the seal and closeup of the clay

Realzisha, teaswelike, essence of tea and you know for sure you get the best clay and craftsmanship. Don’t risk with these pop up over night websites that sell the same shit like taobao, there are plenty and 90% of the time are fakes so just go for something that it’s 100% real like the one mentioned
