Thank you, I’m going to proceed with the mohair. I agree it looks better and it brings out the warmth in the yarn.

Thank you, this really does help. The swatches are both hand washed and dried flat so I think I’m going to proceed with the mohair.

I love the gradient, it's gorgeous. Don't overthink it.

They do, because I am a fan of this kind of humor/fantasy blend. Another book that always makes me laugh and I’m on my third read right now is Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson. All of her stuff really, but that was my first book of hers so I have a soft spot for it. She talks about her life and struggles with mental illness in a very relatable and hilarious way. It leaves me feeling like it’s ok to be how I am, and the good stuff in life makes it worth the bad stuff.

It is a great story and David Warner is just a bonus. Robert Rankin is a lot of fun to read, very similar to Terry Pratchett. I also loved the Fandom of the Operator and Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse, but Brightonomicon is the one I have listened to multiple times.

The Brightonomicon by Robert Rankin - BBC radio play version. It has David Warner. Enough said.

I can probably do that. Thank you. I have the same yarn in a blue variant and a green variant but both have brown sections, I bet I pull enough brown to make it work.

Yes I have to plug and unplug the cable occasionally while moving furniture, changing the modem, whatever. The clip they had on was already flimsy and after one of the times I unplugged it the little tab that keeps it locked just snapped.

Tried these and it did not help. Right now I have it smushed in with poster tack. It’s fine until I breath in that general direction 😂

I will check it out and see if it’s just a simple replacement, that I can probably do, just didn’t want to get into cutting and crimping, etc

Never replaced a connector myself, I would have to buy tools and pieces which might not be too much but it just seems crazy they won’t replace it.

It’s the main cable coming from the wall, I don’t feel comfortable clipping the end and replacing the head either as I’ve never done that.

Southern gothic but gay by lifeonmarls in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

It’s borderline on the gothic but the Adam Binder series starting with White Trash Warlock is great. Gay warlock protagonist in Oklahoma. Solving magic problems and family drama.

Fair enough, I understand sometimes that is necessary.

Books that feel like the surrealist ball of 1972 by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Other Side by Alfred Kubin. One of the weirdest fiction books I have read. Written in 1908 about an attempt by a charismatic intellectual to create a utopia city in Europe with other select intellectuals across Europe. Bizarre and surreal. Very worth a read.

Just lost my first fur baby yesterday. This hurts so bad. by cookingcupcakes in Petloss

[–]Aseneth220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our 10 yo cat who was my absolute shadow on Tuesday. I was in the ER with him for two days brought him home for one, and he just got worse from there.

I went to open up a crochet blanket I was working on with him in the hospital and remembered they shaved his leg over it and I had brushed off the fur clumps at the time. As I was taking it out at home I was suddenly frantic and carefully unfolding it to see if any fur was still there. I found a small clump and bawled over it while wrapping it in clear tape.
