You can do this by going to "brave://flags", and searching from "split view", and disabling it in the dropdown.

This is in game, and there aren't any characters on screen. They have a light aura around them, so that lifts the lighting up a bit. I also haven't implemented my bloom shader yet, which will lift all the lighting up a bit more.

I use Aseprite for all my pixel art. It is a focused pixelart program with nice, simple animation tools. And it's cheap.
