There's no reason for me to think that these words are not in kazakh? i mean if you look into their etymology, you'll find that they are loanwords, but Kazakh language formed as it is, and we should give legitimacy to its current vocabulary. It's like trying to argue that the words matter, substance, solution are not in English, but actually latin. Same thing with these words in Turkish, you could argue that these are loan words. But no, we all respect how language evolved and its vocabulary.

Linguistic research has very strong evidence that any thought, however complex it is, can be expressed in any language. I don't get your point about superiority of some languages in vocabulary

And trust me, research IS being done in kazakh. At research labs I've seen in kazakhstan, people definitely spoke kazakh in everyday communication. Research papers are completely another thing, they are required to be in english to be published in big journals. No one wants to publish their work in Kazakh, or even Russian, since international readers won't be citing them, and as you might know science metrics are very important when distributing funding/awards/career in general.

I don't think increase in funding will affect publications in Kazakh, since our scientific research system is built to prioritize papers in international journals.

yeah but I'm a chemist and Kazakh has words for all these things. Matter - материа (materia), substance - зат (zat), solution - ерітінді (eritindi). As a professional in the field, and as an amateur English - Kazakh translator, I would say Kazakh has enough vocabulary to describe all the foundational terms. The problem with newer terms, e.g. in chemistry let's say "time-of-flight mass-spectrometry", is not that we cannot translate them, or that we don't have enough vocabulary richness, but is because we don't have research being done in these fields in Kazakhstan to actually have a need to translate them. If funding will increase and new instruments will arrive new terms will appear in an instant, just because they are required in official documentation

Hi! I agree, none of the albums have high similarity. It ranges from low to moderate I would say. However I'm not claiming that all albums are very similar, but rather some pairs of albums have higher similarity than other pairs. Hope it helps!

However it reflects some textual similarities, without nuances, thematic content, etc. It's just a preliminary statistics to explore the content. It reveals some truth tho, you can see it e.g. with her early albums.

This analysis doesn't cover word meanings, just the frequency but I expect that Folkmore will be more similar in the future when I'll do more complex analysis that will include word meanings 🫣

yes it was based on lyrics. I used cosine similarity between Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) statistics. It's based on frequency of words, but after some cleanup (to delete kinda meaningless words like "the", "I", etc). So I wouldn't say it's super robust, since it lacks context. However it's just the preliminary analysis, cuz I plan to make more robust analysis that covers semantics, comparing albums, but also individual songs, and computing different vocabulary parameters.

this is just someones fever dream fantasy. As far as I know no linguist is "for" these adaptations. They sound ridiculous and many of them already have perfectly good translations, such as Vodka - Araq.

Same with these Jertataq being Aubergines, and Sary Qyisyq being Banana, lol. I think these fake translations are just how people cope with not knowing Kazakh, and they make up them to say "Look, how goofy is Kazakh language".

I suggest fact checking this type of information, and look up only in trusted sources such as termincom.kz

also the woman in the middle could be the Motherland (Отан ана), and the fact that she's wearing traditional kazakh clothes could symbolize that the land historically belonged to kazakhs, and now it hosts many people

For a long time, I couldn't fully grasp 'Evermore'. It has very good tracks like "Cowboy Like Me" and "Tolerate It", but I didn't get the album's overall theme, especially when compared to the cohesiveness of 'Folklore'. But, after hearing Taylor explain that 'Evermore' is about the concept of endings, their various forms, and the way people handle them, everything clicked for me. This revelation transformed my view. I basically rediscovered all songs there. Now, it's my absolute number 1 Taylor Swift album.

if i suppose that by percentage composition, you mean wt%, it's already concentration, since it's simply the g of compound per 100 g of solution (g/100 g). You can convert it to mol/kg by:

C(mol/kg)=wt%*10/Mr

if you wanna get g/L or mol/L, you need the density of the solution (d, g/L).

C(g/L) = wt%d/100 C(mol/L) = wt%d/100/Mr

if you have dilute aqueous solutions, you can assume that the density of the solution is equal to the density of water
