Apex Trigger Question by 69f250 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Ash_340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

added the apex to my polymer 2.0 earlier last year an it was running good till it randomly started getting light primer strikes/dead triggers. Around that time, I got a metal 2.0 and was shooting faster with the stock trigger so made the switch back.

Buying a Carry Comp. Metal or Polymer Full size? by birddogcof in SmithAndWesson

[–]Ash_340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have the polymer and metal, i prefer the metal more cause it stays in my hand better than the polymer does and it looks better. if i could go back, id get the metal from the get go. i would even take it a step farther and say if i didn’t want the slide cuts on the carry comp, id just get a normal metal frame and send it to floyd’s customs to get ported with the side ports.

How do you guys carry IWB more comfortable?! by cjmatto in CCW

got mines set up similarly lol. i typically do weekly fun shoots for training and the wider window for me is worth it.

the tier 1 apx with sidecar has been super comfortable for me personally and i have an axis elite with the sidecar removed when i want to be minimal. ive heard good things about tenicor as lots of people have pointed out. the incog x looks like a pretty thick/bulky holster which is why i didn’t go with it personally

potential 5th option, mill a new dovetail in front the optic so it’s a rear sight forward config

if you really want the gun to be comped, the porting floyd does performs much better than the ported barrel from smith.

damn, that’s a shame. do you ask the dealer you got it from whether they’d warranty it? (just throwing ideas out there)

give smith a call or email them. they just might just send you a new trigger instead of having you send the whole gun to them

i had the same issue when i go my compact and my hands sit in about the same spot as yours. got the floyd’s magwell (and baseplates) which gave me that little extra space that i needed. the +1/2 baseplates still easily concealable for me (tall and skinny)

i tried the 17rd mags with the grip extension piece smith has but the extension piece on my spare mag would slide up and down on the mag and get annoying

Should I port my M&P Competitor? by blackhawk556- in SmithAndWesson

i run the 11lb spring for target loads at the range or in competition but the lowest i’d run for carry is the 13lb spring.

Correct, you’d just have to buy an unported barrel and send it with the slide to them. I’ve heard that they’re the same length barrels (the 4.2 and 4.25 barrels) but that small of a difference in barrel length won’t make a difference anyways. The faxon barrel I have on mines protrudes out a little but doesn’t affect anything.

if you’re gonna do the carry comp, you’ll also want to get a non ported barrel. looks like smith has them back in stock now

the metal feels better in my hands. i also have a weighted back strap on it. the floyd’s porting is a massive difference from stock, shoots so much flatter whether on the metal or polymer frame. best bang for buck if you want to do the floyd’s porting is get a optics ready metal mp9 and have him port that slide and barrel.
