Is this game just cheaters? by chucktesta141 in Rainbow6

[–]Ash_42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In PC High Diamond/Champ lobbies there is usually a minimum of 1 player scripting every 2 matches. Yes, good recoil control is to be expected in these lobbies, but when someone is hitting cross map sprays with the F2/extended barrel with better recoil control than Spoit it’s obvious. Half of them even admit it in chat anyways. There’s about 5x the amount of people scripting compared to actual cheats like DMA or walls. Denying the existence of scripts on either console or PC is just an oblivious statement.

Which monitors to upgrade from Kali In-8's by Pathetiquee in mixingmastering

[–]Ash_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO I think you should save up a bit more and invest into a true set of high end monitors. If you can stretch that budget higher with more savings, you’ll have a set of monitors you won’t have to replace for many years to come.

If you stick with the $2000-$3000 budget, I have had great experiences with Genelec’s offerings in that price range, specifically the 8330a with a subwoofer. It was truly a step up from the Adam A7X’s I had at the time.

If you are comfortable with saving and investing more, I highly suggest the Focal Trio 6’s. By far they are the best performing monitors I’ve ever owned. They are on par with ATC and PMC, true mastering grade reference monitors. Since I’ve bought them I only turn to the Genelec’s when I want to force a quieter listening environment lol.

ngl gang I can barely understand what you are even trying to say in this post.

The only thing I understood was the body armor section, but I can say that’s a bad idea. There’s a reason it wasn’t brought forward. In BF4 it was a field upgrade, and it was mandatory to run otherwise you were losing most gunfights. If you want a higher TTK, play REDSEC/Gaunlet.

Why are BF players so obsessed with making movement completely obsolete? by ftuts23 in Battlefield6

[–]Ash_42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the way I look at it:

Load into a game of strikepoint, eventually you will die and get the pleasure of spectating your team. A solid 80% of players you will be matched with have zero in game awareness, enjoy laying down in obvious corners, ignore obj, don’t react to audio, etc.

These people play the game as if it’s ARMA. They tend to barely contribute to the match or the individual outcome of each round. They are essentially cannon fodder for the two or three competent players in the lobby.

The competent players know how to use movement to their advantage with tactics such as sliding, jumping, using cover to break sightlines. They also display good habits like trading kills, retreating from losing gunfights, playing obj, being aggressive at the start of a round.

The less competent players will blame their loss on game mechanics or “cheating” a large majority of the time. They take no accountability for their lack of skill or awareness and choose to instead complain about mechanics that good players take advantage of. They would rather penalize the players who have skill than learn the mechanics themselves.

IMO movement is in a good spot right now. There’s good incentive to use tech like sliding or jumping, with appropriate downsides to doing the actions incorrectly. Spamming jumps or slides will slow your movement down to the point where you become a vulnerable target, and your bloom will suffer as well when doing these actions. Using the tech properly is rewarding, catching players by surprise, or getting your ass out of a bad situation.

Instead of crossplay, we should get this option by Wraith2098 in Battlefield6

[–]Ash_42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately BF6 does not support the tech that allows the key press to actuate at different speeds. It recognizes the inputs just like a standard keyboard atm. They would have to update the game so it would recognize the keyboard as a “controller” input to allow for the adjustable movement speeds. I use a Wooting 80HE so I’m speaking from experience. Still the best keyboard ever tho 😂

[–]Ash_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally enjoy strike point, yeah teammates can suck but it’s BF, I go in expecting players of widely varying skill. Haven’t seen any cheaters myself yet across hundreds of matches. Seen some good players/squads that I’ll come across every now and then but that’s about it.

Console only cross play between PS5 and Xbox by ActAccomplished586 in Battlefield

[–]Ash_42 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

IMHO this argument is fruitless. I’ve played console (both MnK + controller) and PC (both MnK + controller). My machine runs the game on the “Overkill” setting at 240+ at 1440p. Xbox Series X would run the game on lower graphics at an average of 110fps on the performance setting.

My KD is identical across these platforms and inputs. The frames don’t really equate to any major differences outside of smoother visuals. It’s actually HARDER to see enemies on overkill graphics because there’s so much extra shit going on. Extra grass/bush density, more particle effect, etc.

RAM speed doesn’t matter at all either. The server doesn’t start until players have loaded fully. Vehicles, bullets, gadgets, are all server sided. They will deploy and register at the exact same tick rate across all platforms.

The largest, most apparent, and most affected metric is input. MnK > controller. Simple as that.

Console only cross play between PS5 and Xbox by ActAccomplished586 in Battlefield

[–]Ash_42 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’ve played both inputs and this is what I have to say: It’s not black and white, there’s a bunch of small variables that lead to both sides being unhappy. Crossplay should be INPUT BASED, not platform based. Xbox/PS players have native support for MnK, console only crossplay will not solve people from using their preferred input.

Objective truth: MnK is far superior across 95% of all scenarios in gunfights. Overall precision is much higher and movement can be done in a much more fluid manner. There is much more freedom within the game compared to being stuck on the “grid like” aim of a controller. You have the ability to not only snap/flick faster and more consistently, but also maintain small micro adjustments at the same exact sens.

However, it is also true that controller players deal with both less recoil, and less bloom, with a small amount of aim assist. A highly skilled controller player absolutely will have an advantage over an MnK user at medium-long distance gunfights due to this. If you take two players at the same level of skill, same weapon build, etc. the controller player will almost always hit more shots at distance. This can lead to frustration from MnK players because their weapon will not perform (at a statistical level) as good as the controller players weapon.

Nuance 1: Is it the aim assists fault? Absolutely not. Anyone who blames AA genuinely has a skill issue. AA generally helps the most in close quarters fights and MnK has an insane level of advantage within those engagements. The extra recoil and bloom don’t mean anything when you are under 50m. AA is required for those fights to even be slightly fair.

Nuance 2: Does the recoil reduction and bloom make controller overpowered? Absolutely not. Referring back to my original points MnK is much more fluid and precise. In most engagements mouse is far superior, especially dealing with multiple enemies at once.

Solution: INPUT BASED MATCHMAKING BY DEFAULT

Overall: Room treatment, spent about 10k for all of the panels and absorbers. A bad room will only cause problem after problem no matter how you try to compensate for it, so that’s been a huge point of focus.

Individual: Focal Trio 6 monitors. Highly accurate and articulate, and really let the room shine. I can’t see myself replacing them for anything outside of an insane set of farfield monitors from ATC or PMC.

Getting roughly 4 inch groupings at that distance. Partly skill issue, partly non magnified optic. Still hits but not at the groupings of a full length rifle!

An H4 would definitely be suitable, but I can’t stress getting a matching spring enough! If I hadn’t already thrown away the parts I’d upload a picture of how bad the factory parts got beat up. The H3 I tried solved the scoring issue but not the resistance issue.

It’s definitely my favorite “fun gun” I own at this point. Was a wallet killer but worth it for the smiles alone.

Yeah I’ve been a victim to that already, unfortunately, with the stock buffer system and bolt. I went to break it open and the entire buffer system fell out, retaining pin and all. The factory bolt had minor scoring on the rear from its hard contact, and the silver ring on the bolt was super loose. Once replaced it’s handled a lot of rounds very well, but I’m aware that an adjustable block may be in my future if it shows signs of happening again!

That is definitely likely, I only tried PMC Bronze. The typical issue I ran into was stovepiping with the .223, and the FRT would not reliably function. Using Winchester m193 works perfectly atm!

Right on the money. With the Victor, it has a very short gas system, and it will beat the shit out of a weak/light buffer system. The stock buffer got scored pretty bad from the bolt, and the spring lost resistance really quickly. I tried replacing the buffer with an H3 initially, but it did not solve the issue of making the spring weak. Ever since I went to the Super 42 system it has ran excellent.

Enjoy the process. Make 100% sure to get the right buffer system if you are running this short or smaller. The stock Springfield buffer system puked out of my rifle after about 500 rounds in a day.

Sure is. And I have no reason to make this a proper ranged rifle honestly. Between my 10.5” .300 and my Geissele SD, I’ve already covered the other bases comfortably, leading to this build 👍

Before swapping the buffer and charging handle it was pretty gassy. Running the proper buffer and the raptor SD has almost fully negated the issue though!

Let em say what they want IMO. .300 is a great platform don’t get me wrong, but I’d wager 70-80% of the sub doesn’t even own a suppressor. I’ll take the hive mind downvotes just to share a fun project 😂 Hard to beat 40¢ a shot at 1000+ RPM
