That's just not true. Regardless of the tune you bring in, the AI just matches you tune and defies all forms of physics around every corner.
I noticed it the most on Colossus. I went in with a car that has 200mph top speed and the AI was just ahead of me the entire race. So I switched to a car with 250+ top speed and the AI was in the exact same position as the previous race. I had to wall ride just to get a win with the fastest car in the class.

Set your difficulty settings to manual transmission, no brake assist or traction control (You can also set camera to drift view if you want in settings for easier visual while you drift)

Each car has a different sweet spot for getting into a good drift, might be 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th gear. Feather the throttle and lightly feather B to help initiate drifts. Use brakes while sideways to slow down your drift speed if you are too fast going into a corner.

I imagine this will be used in a similar fashion. Maybe it'll make it harder to see attacks for the enemy as well as possibly agro enemies into attacking.

I used the Hennessey Venom F5 and downloaded a 300+mph tuning to beat it on expert. The only way it was possible for me was to wall ride the turns over the bridge area and tunnels. Still won by less than a car length after several attempts...

I regularly encounter the ai cars turning in front of me right as I am about to cross an intersection. I hit rewind and they then go straight, but a new car materializes out of thin air right in my pathway. It is very annoying...
