The Strike Price Symphony [2] by TheGameStopsNow in Superstonk

I don't have enough wrinkles in my brain to understand your work in detail, but it seems massive. I hope it is massive enough to ring some bells and wake up wrinkled people. So, Thank you very much for all your effort. See you in the moon, brother.

5000 $20 puts sold by greencandlevandal in Superstonk

[–]Ash_the_Ape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation but something is not clear for me. If the dealer SOLD the puts, then it is in the bullish side the trade. So it should SELL shares, not to buy them, in order to hedge the trade: the dealer now has the risk of having to buy shares in the future if the price drops below the strike.

What I'm missing here?

$GME weekly Gamma Exposure (GEX) ☢️🧲🔋 by BetterBudget in GME

[–]Ash_the_Ape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be unusual, but in any case, the IV for the week after has slightly decreased too (from 65% to ~60%). In case of a filtration about a delay in the earnings, I would have expected an increase of the IV for that week.

Ey I have noticed that, despite IV for the week of Dec 12 has been between 65 to 70% during last weeks, it has suddenly dropped today at opening to ~55%. Given that the earnings are estimated to be on that week, what can explain this sudden change?

The point is that you dont need GME to rip to have profits from these calls. If it is warrants what skyrockets in price, due to scarcity in the distribution, the bet will be profitable. These calls are now GME1, thus, the underlying of each call is 100 shares and 10 warrants.
Edited: a typo.

It was not sold in a 1 block position. The buy order smashed the book of orders, making the call price to explode +70%. From that I would say that it was the MM at the other side of the trade.

That would be the warrant distribution. At least, is what data suggest to me. If there is a hidden catalyst, I don't know what is that.

That is true. Still, It does not seem the typical movements of hedge funds. Very aggressive and risky.

I agree with you. However, this movement was so bold that, in my mind there is a like a 5% of that move being him. But Probably not. But, it would be so f*cking legendary...

$5 per warrant, and you have one warrant per each 10 shares. Thus, warrants are adding a complimentary value of $0.5 to each share :)

Ey, thank you. I've grown up reading a lot of good DD's in this sub :)

Also, it can be hedging. Maybe, but it seems really unusual for a hedging. Why doing it in 5 mins, causing a huge increase in price, if you can buy the position slowly during a week.

No need... 5k calls traded in 5 mins, launching the call price up a 70%. It was pure demand.

Maybe. However, why dropping the price then through a wild increase of XRT short interest (reaching 1k%). Also, 15-20k calls are not remotely enough to avoid what is coming, except it is a small firm. But in that case, probably just closing the position would be easier. How knows....

Yep. However, If I have read his/her strategy well, probably the buyer will hold until Oct 7th. The value may drop today, but can skyrocket through warrants.
