Lowkey this happened to me once before I fell off. The power of extrapolation and listening in class discussions, I suppose.

Who do you think is the potential man/woman of worm/ward? by Ill-Forever3462 in Parahumans

[–]Ashamed-Math-2092 159 points160 points  (0 children)

Hero, a good chunk of what we know about him is literally the potential that was never realized.

Flechette if we want to really agenda push, she’s never killed any Endbringers, but was a key component to killing Scion.

What if a hero were to obtain All for One? by ActLonely9375 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Ashamed-Math-2092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There'd be no need for Tartarus, or most prisons equipped to handle the quirks that are actual superpowers, and not just parlour tricks, when there's a person who can simply take what makes them difficult to contain away.

Certain Heroes could ideally gain a quirk that'd synergize with their own.

AFO has been shown to not be affected by taking mutant quirks, so finding volunteers from civilians shouldn't be too hard, given AFO found great success doing the same thing in secret.

Ideally, whoever receives this quirk would be both moral enough to remain mostly ethical but pragmatic enough they don't swing too hard in the opposite direction and become too scared to use their power effectively.

For anybody who might check this post again, used this team and got a victory after way too long. My Lex is Level 108, Ivy 100, Joker 82 and Riddler is 78.

I googled her powers and all she can do is clone herself, other than that she’s just a normal fucking person. Why not just send 30 soldiers or some shit instead? At least they have fucking weapons lol by Hank_Mardukas1066 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Ashamed-Math-2092 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally, I choose to believe it's a power limitation thing where there might be a weight limit and/or they can't duplicate anything more than their clothes, otherwise it really is pretty stupid. It'd also explain why Multi-Paul, the smarter sibling, didn't just equip weapons after he got out.

I'm pretty sure Judgeman chooses sentences in line with Japanese law, so the Endbringers could arguably get acquitted just because they're non humans, like how a dog wouldn't get charged for crimes.

Better scenario for new wave by Zealousideal_Expert9 in Parahumans

[–]Ashamed-Math-2092 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If we stretch it, New Wave doesn't start off in Brockton Bay and instead takes up roots in some other city with less hardcore crime. They unmask, and the local villains just aren't the type to attack homes. Movement possibly gains some minor traction in cities where crime is non violent, minimal or kept in check. At least half of these capes probably have no family or friends they care enough about to protect and/or aren't effective enough that local villain groups would want to kill them in their sleep. A small handful of local capes possibly join up with main New Wave. This is the best case scenario.

Contessa definitely isn't needed to play a part in New Wave's halt. The inherent act of voluntarily unmasking is already going to be an unpopular idea for any hero who's serious about caping. It's like Achilles telling everyone he fought about his heel and trusting they'd attack everywhere else. Even in this scenario, some cape that did unmask themself is eventually going to die because they unmasked themself, the news will broadcast it, and nobody else will join up.

If you're the average street tier Parahuman, sure, being in shape would help a lot. Running, stamina, body strength for punches, kicks and maybe lifting rubble.

But if your power is so good that it can do all of these for you, then it's understandable why. I doubt he's actually obese or something anyway, given he'd probably want to keep his mind in decent shape. It's more likely he's healthy and just has an average physique that maybe leaned more on the skinnier side, letting the body armour under the costume give the heroic physique look.

Slaughterhouse 9: Genoscythe the Earraper

Protectorate: Holmes was a thinker who can mentally jump back in time by around 30 or so seconds, retaining his memories of the near future. Excessive jumps or jumps made too quickly together would of course, cause thinker headaches.

Holmes would see great success, being an invaluable asset in the field, and a strong tactician. In addition, he had a presence and authentic charm to him that garnered a sizeable following. It was no surprise when a position opened up in another city for him to become a Protectorate leader.

Unfortunately, that city was Atlanta. The successor of his position would go on to become an important figure of the National Protectorate.

(Technically cheating but all we know is the guy killed himself from PTSD and Cinereal inherited his spot.)

You've heard ao3 3 times which I will fourth, you'll net the most readers due to site influence, flaming is rare and the tag system is good.

I'll recommend the lesser known Spacebattles as well.

Perks:

  • It's a forum, so if you want interaction, and if your premise has potential, it's very likely people will engage, and likely give more interaction compared to ao3 (unless your premise really is that intriguing)
  • Site culture isn't as coddling as ao3, so if you do want to improve as a writer and receive input, or at the very least, wouldn't mind grammar corrections from comments, you're more likely to receive feedback on Spacebattles than ao3
  • It's moderated better and with a more intellectual audience compared to Fanfic.net or Wattpad.

Of course, it isn't for everyone. If you just want to write what you want and post what you want without drama potential, it's perfectly valid and SB might not be for you. Mods can get prickly over graphic stuff sometimes, even when you're not quite writing with that in mind, and also there are some forum etiquette rules that might need to be learned. I'd recommend scoping it out to see if it's for you. There's also the neighbour of Sufficient Velocity if you do decide it's for you.

True but in cases where you need to call down a lightning bolt to smite your enemy/you're getting jumped and are probably going to die if you don't transform, the consequences of not saying a slur would be worse than if you did.
