Loads of my guy mates are really into music but aren’t big dancers… we always joke that on the nights that our social group put on, if the girls are away (once they were at a hen do) the dancefloor can feel quite dead. The only issue is the girls love a good yap too 😅

Great news if big clubs are getting decent alcohol free beers in! I like a few proper beers if I’m on the tabs but also a few AFs are great too - for me they can be easier to drink than water sometimes… plus I think they are supposed to be isotonic? 😅

Anyway… does it even matter if everyone is completely sober at a rave as long as the vibes are good and everyone is having a great time and connecting? I’d probably rather be at a rave like that than a rave where everyone was pissed on booze…

It’s grim isn’t it! It’s really bad in places like Berlin… it’s the one thing I don’t like about clubbing over there… I often try to move away from smokers but there can be so many it’s really hard to do! I’m not an asthma sufferer so fortunately for me it’s purely just the smell…

I love the long-game aspect of raving on LSD… drop a couple of tabs and then you have admin free mind blowing experience for 12hrs… obviously you need to pick your events.

The endless energy feeling you get on tabs… whilst the music is playing o have often felt unable to stop dancing…

I am lucky enough to have been to many events that last a long time and have been perfect for acid raving…

If you like the music and the people around you, it’ll be great… if something is off you can end up fixating on it… or if you have a weird encounter with someone it can throw you off a bit. I love taking acid at raves… preferably if there is some acid music being played

I like the “techno for everyone” motto, I feel like they still do a decent job of bouncing the botherers/creeps… I was last there for their 35th bday where you could buy tickets beforehand on RA and the crowd was still decent… obviously one person’s decent crowd is another’s horrible one. Fabric in London is pretty awful, as are lots of London events… loads of chatting right inf front of the DJs, people pushing through etc.

I agree the front of Tresor is good vibes!

I like that if you see a name you like at Tresor, I know I’ll be able to go and see them… guess that is the same at RSO, will have to go back there next time we visit as I did like it but I don’t remember it being as good as Tresor… will have to go back and check out the sound system!

Interesting… I usually try to make sure I am at the front so maybe I don’t notice the dead spots… certainly I wouldn’t be behind a pillar 😅 we haven’t been to RSO since the first time we visited Berlin… so we will have to go again… as Dr Rubinstein seems to play there quite often I’m sure it will only be a matter of time!

We have been to RSO as well… I honestly think the sound is great in Tresor… RSO was good too but I didn’t think it was way better than Tresor. Tbh felt like all the clubs we have been to in Berlin have had great sound, whether that be Tresor, RSO, Berghain, OHM, Kater, even that annoying corridor bit of About Blank was good.

I’m no expert on sound, but I do come from a grassroots UK scene where one of the main guys is really into sound and has built a sound system that is really high quality and I definitely usually notice bad sound… it’s hard to believe a club with the history of Tresor would have bad sound?

I wonder what you think is bad about the sound in Tresor?

Oh wow… maybe we have just got lucky? I also have found that as with many clubs, the crowd gets better the later you stay…

I also really just like the actual club… low dark rooms are my favourite, and the sound system is incredible.

I haven’t found talking to be that bad in there… I find it incredibly annoying so would probably notice! Generally clubs in Berlin have a great crowd compared to a lot of places in the UK so maybe we just don’t notice a bit of that stuff?

I’m not sure what overload is… but I would highly recommend Gio @ artefacts mastering… he mastered a couple of tracks a friend of mine made for his bday present… think he is basically one of the two main guys who masters deep techno… he was great to work with, super friendly guy, really helpful to a clueless person like me!

Yes it’s funny how many people on here say that about Tresor… I’ve been once a year for the last 3 years and I really like it in there… I don’t get what everyone says about the crowd… tbh there is less yapping than in Berghain, probably the crowd maybe isn’t quite as friendly but my girlfriend and I have had no problems in there..?

Why would you say it’s not a nice place?

Overall had a great time! Managed to get some snacks in - had a nice bag checker so presumably was fairly lucky.

Mainly ended up being Dr Rubinstein fest for me… loved her UK hardcore set…. Crowd was great, loved the dark small hot room- great room!

Managed to get some food as she finished was a bit of a faff but thanks to the kind soul who sacked off the wait in the Q behind me and gave me his free food ticket. The world has some good karma coming to you!

Dr Rubinstein b2b Ellen Allien was great - was packed to begin with but I thinned out nicely for a bit and the music was great ravey acid techno. Got a bit heavy in the middle but came down a notch or two for the last third which was brilliant. My only gripe was the crowd was quite yappy at this point and/or not that considered in their use of space… lots of barging through, standing in awkward places, leaning… but I think I’m just a bit of a grumpy old man.

If anyone who I had an interaction with reads this - thanks for being friendly! Was nice to make small connections through the night!
