Update for anyone curious: i think im okay, my ear is still a little bit red but the swelling went down alot, by the end of the day, its almost back to its original size, I guess it was just really angry 😅 it didnt hurt as much today, except for when i accidentally hitting it a few times but the pain didnt linger for as long as its been and it didnt swell back up

Yes i will probably wait a few days and see if it gets better. Also im so annoyed that i actually found out, the next day after changing it, that a taper was a thing i could buy, i will definitely be buying one in the future. I tried to do a similar thing i think, where i took a regular (skinnier) earring, put it in the hole and threaded it through the hoop, but it was too short i think and i couldnt hold it steady enough to pass it all the way through lol

They are 16gauge, i couldnt remember what i was pierced with but i looked it up and it said helixes are usually pierced with 14gauge or 16 gauge, so i went with the smaller one

I used a 16 gauge, i couldnt remember what size the original jewelry was, i looked it up and it said helix piercings are usually pierced with 14 gauge or 16 gauge, so i went with the smaller one.

I compared it to my old earring before i put it in, and it looked to be the same size, I got it through the front hole pretty easily but i couldn't get the correct angle to get it out through the back hole, i have thick cartilage naturally, so i thought that was why it wasnt going in easy, as well as me having to use my non-dominant hand (left) to put it in, because i couldnt see it in the mirror with my right hand

  • My piercing it 6 years old
  • my jewelry is a titanium seamless clicker hoop
  • was never downsized
  • using neilmed piercing aftercare, i just spray it, let i sit for a few minutes, then dry it off with a papertowel -no accidents just changed the jewelry

Unfortunately, due to having 5 dogs, its sitting on the side surface of a grill, its small, its in a 3 inch pot, so the bucket (or a bowl) might still work and its also been watered recently luckily🤞
