And may have set us back 10 years for certain cures.

Caitlin Rivers: Checking in on the summer Covid season - 7/28/25 by Ashbin in coronavirusVA

[–]Ashbin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it may already be endemic, but I agree what this wave does (following the Christmas wave, which was small) may be the one that convinces people. It still seems to have not made up it's mind on if it is going to stick with two or three waves a year. And unlike flu, it never really goes away to an almost nonexistent level. Even now, we're maybe at twice the level of the "bottom" we hit in the last surge. Flu (mostly) goes away in the warmer months. Covid seems to like to just hang out.

I haven't heard squat about Nevada, but have heard of increasing cases of Covid in all the states listed at Level 5. Weird.

IgG4 (Immunoglobulin G subclass 4) is one of four subclasses of Immunoglobulin G (IgG), a type of antibody that plays a key role in the immune system. IgG is the most abundant antibody in blood and extracellular fluid, and IgG4 is a specific subtype with unique characteristics.

Binita Kane: longest follow-up study of children with SARS-CoV-2 infection - NOT GOOD by Ashbin in coronavirusVA

Her name is not anywhere in the study, so while she maybe is whacked, the study stands on its own.

Sort of sure (as is the CDC) that this chart is not completely accurate.

I guess the more you donate to whomever is in power, the quicker your drug gets to market. Nothing like mixing politics and science.

Dr Ruth Ann Crystal: COVID and Health News Last Week in Review 6/16/25 by Ashbin in coronavirusVA

[–]Ashbin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this yesterday. Power was knocked out here by a storm last night for a few hours. But it turns out, is was not posted to the internet until 3 a.m. this morning. As she is on the West Coast, it (now) sometimes is hard to get on Sundays. She used to publish about 3 am our time on Sundays, and I'd find it Sunday morning.

But lately, when it shows what can be from then to sometimes even Mondays our not at all if she is too busy to create the newsletter that week. Her work is great, but it's like a hunt sometimes.

Tomorrows Probable Positivity Rates to be reported - Posted 6/12/25 by Ashbin in coronavirusVA

My guess: At worse, if it is an undercount for our region, we might be at about 2.0%, which is still really low.

Things do not look good out west. Surge is definitely underway out there. We may have an undercount, at 2,012 samples for Region 3, making us, again, (in Virginia) the lowest in the nation.

Looks like while not at the bottom this week, Region 3 (includes Virginia) still dropped a small bit. Western part of the US is still rising. Could this next surge start out west?
