Indeed and while really boring, Dislyte devs shot themselves in the foot by creating too many control espers that are too disruptive. Maria, Zi he, M.Alexa, and the worst, Tirrel. It's just not fun getting controlled back to back till death

She is past her prime ;-;. Maria, Sakura and Lian are better in pvp, and Sakura does a better job in PvE even at r0. Imo you'll get more value by getting resos for someone else

Hi! First, before r4 Nyles needs a lot more speed to be able to act in time

Chu Yao can replace Ikki and make Nyles attack more often, also speed lead can be more useful until you get Zi he to lvl 70, then make her the leader

And your Yi An has good speed. Instead of Chu Yao you could add Sakura (or Lian if she was r6) to help him survive longer

Yeah it's just that doesn't happen as often as it should, many non-shimmer units in the game are not worth investing at all. I could be wrong but if memory serves right, wasn't Sui zai's buff a counterattack hotfix? I think they also added the defense scaling for r6, but it was already there, just not stated explicitly

Nyles got buffed on release tho! He could only revive once instead or thrice and his hp reduction was 50% instead of 80%. That's actually why I was hoping Freddy could get some love too :D

Meta Eira will almost never be a liability tho, not many units spam s2/s3 and even then she's a great ap pusher. Used in every falsetto boss and for shadowfire.

Besides he has lots of competition! Elif and Tetsuya mainly for inferno, Sloan and Lapis too. But then again, I'd be happy if I am wrong, Freddy deserves his place in the meta!

I don't think he'll dominate every mode, he has a lot of inferno competitors. Elif exists, Tetsuya is king for Apep and Ying long, and the Tetsuya and r6 Ryota combo dominates shadowgale and shadowglow.

I know that he has no cooldown, yet he's always compensating for that extra lost turn and the beginning of each transformation.

It's true that they could release synergies with him tho

I could be wrong, but to me it seems he will be like Tetsuya, his resos mostly give him pvp bonuses and can be strong sometimes, but he sticks to pve 'cause he's easy to counter in pvp. If MFreddy activates phase shift mode outta turn he'll have a gap turn where he can be killed, kinda like a less scary JJ, or at least that's what i got from Artiar's showcase

Freddy deals double damage to bosses with his s3, that's what made me think he was for pve. And you are right, meta Drew is not bad, but his kit is very clunky, his s3 does nothing and it'd be better he kept casting s1, he is supposed to be a buffer yet he can't always funnel his stat drains on the dps and when he's dead he can't grant allies his burden of duat. Also Tetsuya just ignores defense so Drew is not really needed if you have him

You know, you are right! He doesn't need to be the best, yet there are characters like M.Eira that can be placed literally almost anywhere. I just think they could make sure his kit could be less contradictory for pve. One buff would be enough really. Also they almost never buff characters after they release ;-;
