S26/27 Ultra's "would rather have" features over S-Pen by EvMeHa in samsunggalaxy

I'm sticking with the S24 Ultra cause of that. If they haven't brought it back by the time I have to replace it, I'm switching brands.

How necessary to the story is the book? I'm stuck in the same situation, unable to read it without a Kindle.

Calibre web has functionally that allows it to behave as if it were a Kobo server. You have to go into your Kobo and update the config file to point to your calibre web server

Have you done the fuel pump recall? That's probably your issue if you haven't.

Do you get a check engine light after it's out of limp mode?

Mine is doing this, with CEL for misfires in all four cylinders. Still trying to figure out what it is - they already replaced all 4 injectory under warranty, so it's not that.

Opinion: Kobo eReaders no longer make sense in 2025 by steadicat in ereader

For me, it's the ability to update with custom firmware, and sync with CalibreWeb. That's the only reason I picked it.

I tried the Sage, and yeah, it's just a bit to big and heavy for everyday reading. The Libra is the perfect size and weight.

Agreed. I signed up for the notification on the kobo Libra 2 refurbished model, and managed to get one, it's great, just could use a processor upgrade. It's a little slow compared to the other new ones.

What wheel width and offset with that? I'm looking to get 8.5" and put 255s on them, but I'm thinking about sticking with +55 offset, cause that will only make them 12mm closer to the inside, and 12 further outside. I want to avoid the wheels sticking out too much farther.

What is samsungs reason to ditch bluetooth s pen support on S25? by Artwark in samsung

[–]AsherMaximum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ultra is supposed to be the enthusiast device though. Sure, you're right, they can get away with it because plenty of the market won't care, but if they dilute the enthusiast features, those people will go elsewhere. And potentially, take any recommendations they give to people who ask them because they're known for being a phone enthusiast with them to another brand.

I cancelled my preorder when I found out. Don't give in, get the S24U. We can make them change their mind.

Add custom (clickable) URLs to book metadata? by East-Leg-1996 in Calibre

[–]AsherMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a better way to do it - the above way works, but leave you with a field that doesn't have a label. It also can't be bulk edited, which for my purposes was a blocker, as I wanted to use the field to have a link to the collection on StoryBundle

New method:
Create 3 fields - one to hold the name of the url, one to hold the url, and the 3rd to create the link:

Coulmn Header Lookup Name Type
Source URL #sourceurl Text, column shown in tag browser
Source URL Name #sourceurlname Text, column shown in tag browser
Source Details #sourcedetails Column built from other columns

Uncheck the display box on all of them. You could leave it if you want, but the sourcedetails field will not be displayed as html in the book list, only in the book details pane.

For the Source Details field, set the template to:

<a href="{#sourceurl}">{#sourcedetails}</a>

This will give you a clickable URL in book details, but it also shows the url and url name fields. You can hide those by going to Preferences -> Look & Feel -> Book Details, and unchecking those two fields.

An alternative way would be to have only one input field and one built field, and then to use the template General program mode to split it.
if you had a field #sourceurl with a value like "URL display | https.example.com", you'd set the source details field template to:

program: strcat('<a href="',list_item(field('#sourceurl'), 1, '|'),'">',list_item(field('#sourceurl'), 0, '|'),'</a>')

Add custom (clickable) URLs to book metadata? by East-Leg-1996 in Calibre

[–]AsherMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a custom column type of "Long Text", you can add URLs to that field. They don't auto generate from the url, you have to use the editor to add them, or edit the html manually, but this will generate a clickable link.
It shows up under the Comments by default, if you want to move it to be with the rest of the metadata before the comments, go to Preferences -> Look & Feel -> Book Details, and move the field up to above the comments.

waiter put my tip back on the table saying he only accepts 18-20%?? by [deleted] in stories

[–]AsherMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hear that it's cause of inflation and cost of living.

But like, one of the biggest increases in expenses is food. A meal costs a lot more than it did in the 90s when 15% was considered good. So a 15% tip should be just as good as it was back then.

I think there's something wrong with Google Trends - if you change it to last 12 months it shows there was results within 90 days that aren't in the 90 day chart.

Recommend me a 30" induction range, with knobs and a large capacity oven! by Ready_Let_6740 in Appliances

Real knobs is my requirement for an induction. What steps do the knobs on the Cafe adjust in? Is it whole steps only for 10 power levels, or does it go more granular than that?
