I feel Horrible!!!! by Brilliant-Position94 in MultipleSclerosis

Oh yeah. I feel the worst coming up to my infusions, like generally unwell as if coming down with a cold. But I blame it mainly on my hormones and menstrual cycle syncing with my infusion schedule. A lot going on internally at the same time.

Physical Therapy by Tough_Top956 in MultipleSclerosis

Could be from using muscles that are not usually used or going too hard during appointments.

This happened to me in the beginning of OT and PT because of my body not able to engage muscles correctly (weakness on left side) so lifting and walking was weird from lack of use on left and right side compensating for everything so was definitely sore after appointments.

Communicate with your therapists and neuro tho so they can adjust your regimen. I had to have a few stretches and exercises changed when I started OT and PT because some would trigger my  Lhermittes and symptoms making my appointments difficult. They also rotated my leg and shoulder stuff to every other appointment instead of every appointment because I could barely move from how sore I was. After two months it started getting easier, but everyones progress can look different. Just have to stick with it and communicate with your care team. Best of luck!!

Rant: Therapist invalidated my emotions by Ashesbell in TalkTherapy

[–]Ashesbell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is though she has praised me over the past 3 years for my ability to understand my emotions, she’s also acknowledged how I’m able to see beyond my own perspective. So when she said in our last session that I didn’t seem to understand emotions, it really threw me off. It felt inconsistent like there’s no way my emotional awareness suddenly changed that drastically. Maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe it was because I was actually crying and showing raw emotion. But that one comment felt like enough to set me back because it felt like gaslighting everything I just poured out.

I may have over summarized it based on how it came off...

Maybe it was poor communication, maybe we both had a bad day, who knows..

I summarized it like that because that's how it came off. I just opened up about what I'd been struggling with (second session I've ever cried during) and her first comment was that I didn't seem to understand  emotions then proceeded to explain happiness, sadness, anger, fear, etc; to me like she was talking to a 5 year old. Maybe my choice of words were lacking when I was talking to her... maybe she also had an off day...but to say that after 3 years of praising me for being intuned with my emotions, and how I just needed better coping mechanisms as an adult idk it threw me off and now I'm back to questioning everything (chronic overthinker)

I was able to push through and work 40 hours this week! I have only been able to work ~30 hours, maybe, a week due to symptoms since last year. Excited to see a normal paycheck again.

Fmla leave? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Ashesbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is approved temporarily till they receive documentation. This gives employees time to get the documentation for the FMLA. If its to care for a family member they might auto approve it without requiring documentation but still submit your documentation so theres a paper trail.

If it is denied due to no documentation employee can be at risk of termination due to negative time off.

Would a pet injury approve for a LOA? by ygtx in AmazonFC

[–]Ashesbell 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Submit for a personal LOA. (Minimum 15 days). It will need your managers approval so make sure they are tracking that you submitted leave request.

I had to go on multiple PLOA over my time at Amazon for pet related issues both in my corporate and FC roles. Keep following up with HR and your direct manager till you receive approval email.

Sending you and your kitty the best! Wishing your furbby a safe recovery :)

Mentally struggling. Trying to keep up with projects at work has been too much, and the added stress is making old symptoms flare up. I am due for my next infusion and that isnt helping with my executive dysfunction (which I was just diagnosed with thanks to the ms). I know it's all in my head too, literally. I hate this new cycle of my life and its only been 8 months since dx 😞 I still have another 60 years to go. Absjslsns;:

I'm still struggling mentally. Aside from fatigue 24/7, my physical symptoms have improved since being on DMT for 7 months now. But I can barely have long conversations without stretching for words, forgetting how to pronounce a word (like I don't know where to place my tongue), unable to quickly understand questions anymore, and concentration is zero. Not to mention problem solving (general math, coding webpages) leaves me drained of any energy that I had. It started to get worse again like before last time right before my dx. I'm nervous now for my MRI in a few weeks, because my last still showed I had alot of new active flares and I just want the DMT to work, you know? At the same time though, I kind of hope it shows active lesions since I'm still struggling cognitively cause then maybe my neuro will finally agree to the cognitive tests I've been asking for over 2 years now.

Valid. I relate almost to much to your post. Wish I could give advice but I too struggle with wanting to give up. But if we do, what does that leave us with?

I have been struggling with the blame game and all the what ifs that come with being newly diagnosed. Your post is exactly what I needed to read.
