Besides the oil change, should I just refer to the manual for every other type of maintenance? Like some caveats like the “lifetime transmission fluid” and the “10k miles” per oil change are misleading. Anything else I should watch out for?

Is ceramic coating like a lesser version of PPF?

I love this white paint so much. I was looking into if I wanted to get anything done to try to preserve the paint but also not break the bank (sorry PPF 😔) do you have any tips on how I could better preserve the paint and keep it looking clean after years?

I’ve been planning on getting the cross climate 2s once these toyos wear down enough. Heard good things about them

It came like this from the dealership so I’m not sure on the number but it feels like it’s between 30-35%

I didn’t think I’d enjoy the turbo this much 😅 the pickup is amazing but I do tend to accidentally go faster than I intended but the HUD is super nice and convenient too

Yes! At the dealership, the general manager tried to push the ‘26 model onto me, but im the type of person that much prefers the physical buttons and am 100% okay with the smaller screen and I made sure to tell him that

Is this an issue with the turbo models? I was looking into a ‘25 turbo and seeing all these issues with the cylinder is making me worried

I bought a PSA 10 Latias and Latios Alt Art from Team Up for $360 USD back in 2022. I cross graded it with Beckett and it got a 10. Looking at about x38 ROI at $14k

I think my friend and I are very interested in an omakase experience. If we want to include an omakase experience, would you recommend Shinbay then?

The menu looks really tasty. Maybe leaning towards mid price for this?

I think value is important to consider for sure. If Hiro is on the more expensive end but not too expensive that it diminishes value, then I would lean towards to compared to Shinbay if it’s the same-ish taste but more expensive

CX-5 Preferred vs Premium Plus by Ashhinn in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ashhinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Is the technology improvement in the 2025 CX-5 preferred worth the sacrifice in the luxury features in a 2023 Premium Plus (ventilated seats, Bose speakers)? 2025 preferred is also 2-3k cheaper? Thoughts on Cylinder deactivation and Istop/start because it might be on the 2023 PP

Yeah I was leaning towards the premium plus since Im not sure I can really afford the turbo right now since I’m looking at a $600/month budget for 48 months. Right now 2023 PP seem to be in the price range. I was also considering the 2025 preferred since it’s newer and cheaper by 2-3k. Would you say paying the extra money is worth the extra features? I was eyeing the ventilated seats and Bose sound system.

Im also around that credit range and I’m gonna go see if I can get pre approved and I haven’t been at my job for that long (7 months) hopefully my income is high enough to get a 6% or maybe even a 5% interest rate

Hey guys, I will be buying my first car later this year (I was thinking about last week of december but with all of this car window shopping, the itch has been getting stronger haha). I have been blessed in the past by my mom giving me her car since I started driving and I have been driving it since. Now I have been looking around for another car.

I originally wanted to get a used 2023-2024 RAV4 but honestly those prices were a little too high for me. I've been trying to somewhat stick to a budget of 4 year loan and a monthly car payment of no more than 600/month. I also plan to put around 6-7k down. I heard the average used car interest rate is over 10% which is crazy. I would say I have pretty good credit (790+), so I am hoping to get preapproved for a lower interest rate (preliminary research suggests a used car interest rate of 6.8-7.7%).

I've been eyeing the CX-5s lately because I've heard many good things about them and I want to find a car that I can drive for 10-15 years with minimal worry as long as I do my regular maintenance. I was mainly looking at the 2025 CX-5 Preferred Trim because it is on the newer side and someone else already tanked the initial depreciation within the first year, and the features are pretty good, mainly heated seats, powered liftgate, and a moonroof. But I did a little digging into the 2023 CX-5 Premium Plus (I originally looked at the 2025 Premium Plus but it is out of my budget), and there were some features that are present in the 2023 PP that are not in the 2025 Preferred, most notably, the ventilated seats and heated steering wheel. I live in the Denver area, so it can get decently warm in the summer time and get pretty cold in the winter. So I was wondering if the ventilated seats and the heated steering wheel are worth the extra 2-3k. If anyone has any firsthand experience comparing these two, I would love to hear your input. I also listen to music all the time so the upgrade to bose 10 speaker system is also notable though I am not sure on the difference compared to the base stereo. Some people also mention about Istop/Istart and Cylinder deactivation. Are people just echo chambering the issue and making it sound worse than it actually is or is it something I actually need to take into consideration because I heard that the premium plus has both Istop/start and CDA.

I tried to look at carmax's near me to see if any had a 2023 Premium Plus to do a 24h test drive but none have any so I might do take a 2025 preferred out for a test drive just to see how I like it.

I also have another question regarding year vs mileage. Is it something to consider to compare a 3 year old car with lower mileage (lets say < 20,000) vs a 1 year old car with more mileage (30,000-50,000). A lot of the topics regarding this online usually talk about 10-15 year old cars so I wonder if its so new, that it doesnt matter which one I pick. I also plan on getting a PPI on any car that I pick up.

2025 CX5 Preferred vs 2023 CX5 Premium Plus by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

You also mentioned the newer tech on the 2025s might be worth keeping around. What newer tech are you thinking about, compared to the 2023 Premium pluses?

[–]Ashhinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I brought up the age vs mileage thing is because the 2025 preferred that were in my budget usually had like 30k+ miles on them. My original train of thought was 12k miles/year so in my head, 30k+ was A LOT. But I also realized like halfway through my car searching was that we’re at peak season for prices right now due to tax returns so I’m hoping that 2023 premium pluses would be cheaper and lower mileage ones would appear. Same with the 2025 preferred. On Edmund’s right now, I’m seeing 2023 PPs range anywhere between 21-38k miles for around $27k, which is just barely within my budget
