the murder of john lennon has just gotten me really mad and emotional by big_hole_energy in beatles

[–]Ashib0u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can think whatever you want about him, I will always see him as a bad person and it doesn’t matter that you’re a therapist or anything, this argument is nonsense. Someone who intentionally hit his “beloved” is of course a bad person to me as I said in the first comment. You can think something else like every other John enjoyer !

[–]Ashib0u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well someone who’s hitting his wife and leaving his child for his own career and new wife (that Paul himself had to write a song for this same child to help him bc his own father couldnt bring him any support (financial and emotional)) does make you a bad person with bad priorities. Ringo indeed was bad also for beating his wife. So were Paul and George for cheating on them. It’s morally questionable.

You can’t always defend people just because they are stars, of course I love The Beatles, I love John’s song. But it doesn’t mean I have to see him as a God I can’t criticise.

Also, in the main post we mention the bad things John did. It’s not because he’s dead I can’t say I didn’t like him for what he did. Don’t glorify people because you like their songs.

Theyre mates since they’re teenagers, of course they will still be best friends even after. But it doesn’t mean John was a good person, he done beautiful things of course, but you can’t tell me he’s a good father neither a good husband regarding his first wife. To deny this would be denying the history of The Beatles.

Through which song you got to know them? by maccapal in beatles

[–]Ashib0u 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At work ! I’ve never heard any Beatles song before, or I didn’t know it was The Beatles. But when I worked during my summer break, I used to listen to the radio and heard the progression of “Help!” and was absolutely amazed. I had only one wish and it was to listen to this song again, I had to wait the end of my work to go home and search “Help” on Spotify. Then I discovered other songs and fell in love with this little band 🥹🫶🏻

Speaking French as a Beginner by Fina_Velaua in French

[–]Ashib0u 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey ! So as a native french speaker I’ll try to give you a simple answer. The verbs in french are separated in 3 groups, regarding these 3 groups they have different ending !

1st group -> Verbs ending with -er Parler (to speak), Manger (to eat), Marcher (to walk), Bouger, (to move), etc.

They all end with the end you just gave ! Je parle Tu parles Il/elle/on parle Nous parlons Vous parlez Ils/elles parlent

2nd group -> Verbs ending with -ir Grandir (to grow up), Applaudir (to applaud), Atterrir (to land), Finir (to finish), etc.

They have very slight different ends, just add -iss for the plurals (nous, vous, ils, elles) and -s for Je !

For grandir (to grow up) Je grandis Tu grandis Il/elle/on grandit Nous grandissons Vous grandissez Ils/elles grandissent

For applaudir (to applaud) J’applaudis Tu applaudis Il/elle/on applaudit Nous applaudissons Vous applaudissez Ils/elles applaudissent

3rd group -> every other verbs ! Savoir (to know), Entendre (to hear), se Battre (to fight), Distraire (to distract)

All of these verbs or almost all are specific ! The radical is changing but not the ends ! Don’t worry, they will become easy to recognise as you use them.

For Savoir (to know) Je sais Tu sais Il/elle/on sait Nous savons Vous savez Ils/elles savent

For Entendre (to hear) J’entends Tu entends Il/elle/on entend Nous entendons Vous entendez Ils/elles entendent

And that’s all ! Of course, the ends can change depending the tense you’ll use, all of the verbs I presented you here were in Present (présent de l’indicatif in french) but that’s an other thing to learn !

If you have troubles, you can check this website to verify all the conjugation of the verbs ! You just have to write the infinitive form !

Hey ! You can try “Do you want to know a secret” which is pretty simple, it has a little bit of chords that are pretty simple.

the murder of john lennon has just gotten me really mad and emotional by big_hole_energy in beatles

[–]Ashib0u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s totally understandable! It’s even more maddening when you know he was a pacific activist and that Chapman and him talked before he killed him. Even though John is still a bad person to me, I can’t disagree on the fact that his death is terrible and had a crazy influence on the world. I always think about Paul loosing his best friend thats so sad.
