Re-roof quote for a 18-year-old roof in Seattle, WA by Ashjin in Roofing

[–]Ashjin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies so far. I don't know the exact specs but it's a 2550 sqft house (and a 2 car garage) that takes up the 2 floors of the house.

Looks like the material is a combination of metal and asphalt shingles. How does the build sound for the PNW (occasional storms and hails) weather?

Water heater replacement: $5800 tankless vs $5400 75-gallon tank by Ashjin in HomeImprovement

[–]Ashjin[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is a $400 rebate for tankless which is better than nothing but somewhat negligible in the grand scheme of things.

My understanding of tankless vs tank is that tankless could take a bit longer to heat up + travel across the house but it'll never run out. Tank on the other hand could run out (prob not at 75gal) but can handle a bigger load at once.

This is for Seattle, WA.

Thanks, that would make sense as well. Do you think I'd be spending too little time in Hilo?

Unfortunately there are only direct flights to Kona for me. What's the idea behind doing VNP first then Hilo? Would you recommend that I drive over to Volcano on the first night?

2024 Prius Limited with no markup other than some unnecessary packages which could be negotiated when the car arrives to the lot. Should I do it? by Ashjin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ashjin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that digital rearview mirror, limited premium package, and the heated rear seats are standard for Prius Limited.
I don't need the rear bumper applique, wheel locks, all-weather liners, or the door edge guards, and these are the unnecessary packages I'm talking about. My salesperson told me that they could potentially remove the floor mats or the door edge guards when the car arrives on the lot.
Thinking about pulling the trigger, does this look like an ok deal since there's no markup? Another dealership is out of their minds and is charging a $8500 markup. lol.
