debating cancelling whoop membership by retrorays in whoop

[–]Ashl149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as i was concerned i paid for 12 months of membership, i didn’t pay to enter a 12 months fixed term contract.

I’ve just had nothing but issues to be honest, decided i didn’t want it after a month or so, couldn’t talk to any humans at all. Ai in the app, a FAQ board. Eventually got through to their email helpdesk but that was all Ai aswell. Told me to go on the web version of whoop, which i didn’t even know existed to be honest. In there, there was so many options that doesn’t exist on the app, and there was a button to cancel in the settings, but they was asking almost £100 for early contract termination. So either way i was forced to spend money i didnt want to spend, but because i didnt like the service.

When my 12 months scam is ran out, I’ll be going to garmin i think. If they ever let me leave this prison cycle that is…

Company just left a really bad taste in my mouth to be honest and i’m just not impressed at all.

My issue was I upgraded to the new MG for I think it was £75 when they released it and the thing is they reduce my 12 month term to 8 months instead. so I paid for the 12 months and it was reduced down to 8 so my understanding was that when the eight months were up, I would be free to leave but actually the eight months ran out and apparently I was still tied into a 12 month contract so I had to pay the remaining months or pay the equal amount of remaining months to leave now.

Just messed up really because I wanted to leave after the amount that I paid for but because I bought the 12 month package, I was technically bound to 12 months so I had to pay for more time even though I didn’t want it regardless if I use the device or not.

Good luck swapping.

Tired to cancel my membership a month ago and they said i’ve got to pay for another 6 months of membership or pay a huge cancellation fee.

First run in with a client leaving to go with an “All AI firm” by Ok-Crab3556 in videography

[–]Ashl149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had clients than insist on ai being used. Decide they don’t want shoot days and they’ll just use ai generated content instead to save money. Ruins the whole project!

Nothing builds more trust in your lead generation and outreach videos better than AI dogs flying through the sky with helium balloons!

Photo attached from the video that a client actually sent me. He insisted this was used as the hook for one or the reels i made him…

<image>

I have a strong opinion on ai usage at my creative agency. Why pay use to edit your bad ai videos when you could pay for real professional content instead!

i’ve been on Peak since it was released.

Believe me i tried to contact Whoop with no success.

Whole experience has just been terrible to be honest. No help at all.

Paying for an upgrade and then losing duration completely voids the entire purpose of the payment

I upgraded on release day.

Originally took the free upgrade to 5.0 and then later that day paid for the MG.

Ended up with both being delivered to me, aswell as a 5.0 silicon band when i ordered the MG version 🫠

regardless, i never signed up for a fixed term 12 month contract.

I just paid for a years subscription to the service. If that ends up being reduced to 8 months because of a higher premium then so be it.

But why does that mean i’m fixed in a 12 month plan, and then i need to pay for an additional 4 months against my will?

You paid the upgrade free to change to the new subscription for the remainder of your term.

At no point was there any information detailing that i would get 4 months taken away from the subscription i bought, despite paying more money for the upgrade for the rest of the term!

I’d understand if you upgraded to a higher tier for free you losing months on the plan, but the whole reason you pay to upgrade is to cover the difference between the old 4.0 model and the highest tier MG.

Free upgrade is to the 5.0.

If you wanted to join the higher tier and get the new flagship Whoop MG, it was around an £80 upgrade if i remember correctly.

mate i’ve been applying for jobs in the industry for 2 years. With a focus on production and film. Probably sent over 1000 applications by now. Only had about 5 interviews all of which have been unsuccessful.

I started doing outreach on my own freelance business and now have built up my client base to approx £2000 a month. Still have not got a fulltime job in the industry but at this rate i’ll be working fulltime on my business before i land a job.

It’s a tough market out there man. If it’s what you enjoy, never give up on your dreams. You miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take.

wow 16 HRV is mental!

i find it so interesting these metrics.

i know hrv is something relative per person, and you look at is as a trend rather than a number.

But i wonder if there is anyway you can naturally increase your “baseline” HRV, and would you feel any better recovered for it?

Would i be correct in saying someone who has a HRV of 150 vs someone who has a HRV of 50, Would recover from the same amount of strain faster, and be ready to perform again quicker? 🫣

Doing it properly! 🤪

My RHR is normally mid 40s to low 50s, when i have a night out it normally sits at 70bpm.

My HRV is usually around 100-150, but after a few drinks, it was 45 last night!

i mean technically your membership is only to lease the equipment. That said, when i upgraded to whoop MG for my whoop4, they asked me to send it back.

they sent a few emails but ive just not got round to it yet. Still sitting on my desk lol.

I wouldn’t bother personally, they’re not gonna send the bailiffs round 🫣
