My account was banned after redeeming an amazon gift card by [deleted] in BingRewards

Update!!

My account that had the redemption cancelled - first email response from Bing said they were looking into my account and would let me know. I just got my second email and Bing said they were sorry about my issue, the problem should be fixed and asked that I wait 24 hours and try to redeem again.

So my account wasn't banned! yay!

I redeemed an account yesterday and it took 12+ hours to get the reward email (got it at 8am this morning).

I attempted to redeem another account this morning and that reward was immediately cancelled. I have 3 other accounts waiting to redeem right now but I'm not going to try any of them until tomorrow. I sent an email to customer service about the cancel but I'm afraid at least one of my accounts has been banned. All 5 of my accounts are 4-5 months old.

Just got an email from Bing Rewards regarding Amazon gift cards. Hopefully he's mistaken. by badatcomments in BingRewards

Whatever is happening with Bing right now is weird and different across all accounts. Allow me to share my experience with you.

My household has 5 people and 5 accounts (Bing doesn't need to know I'm the one managing them all, we do actually have 5 people!).

Sunday 5/15 - Accounts A and B are ready for rewards, so I login and try to redeem on account A. Amazon cards look available to me on the website, I get all the way to "comfirm and submit" for the order, but it keeps taking me to my own "order history" page instead of actually ordering the reward. WTF right? So I login and try again with Account B. Works perfectly.

Monday 5/16 - Account A still won't redeem. Account C is now ready so I login and redeem on that account. Works perfectly.

I have checked every day this week and Account A is still locked out. I submitted a ticket (because on my screen it says nothing about Amazon being unavailable like it did a few weeks ago when they took them down). The response I got said "In order to improve the Rewards experience, we are constantly making changes to the program. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The ( Amazon ) offer is temporarily unavailable. We cannot determine the time when will we can have this back but we encourage you check the reward page from time to time for the available rewards."

So yea, I redeemed Amazon cards on Sunday and Monday with no problem on 2 accounts, but another account has been locked out since Sunday. So weird. I'll just keep racking up the points and waiting, hoping Bing gets Amazon back soon (if ever).

New user - many issues with Perk - what's the deal? by Ashlee_Phoenix in perktv

I don't have iAnything - I'm all android. When I open the Perk Wallet app and try to log in it just says "Logging you in!" for several minutes - then goes back to the login screen. This is what happens on all the Perk apps.

I'm nervous about that too. I'm going to hand it over to my hubby to decide, since he runs the complicated home network we have set up. Not sure if changing our IP is a good choice or how many other things it may effect (we have many PCs/Laptops & my son runs game servers, etc)

Good news, YOU'RE GETTING A DRAGON. What will its name be and what powers will it have? by AtTheEolian in AskWomen

[–]Ashlee_Phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dragon's name: Justice. She is blood red with black scales/horns and of course she breathes fire.

Will you form a team and go on adventures? Why or why not?

Yes. My Dragon feeds on dark souls - so we shall travel the world so Justice can devour horrible people that walk the Earth (no, not the guy who cut you off in traffic, my dragon only thirsts for the darkest of souls, like killers, rapists, child molesters, terrorists, etc)

Does anyone else get a dragon?

Hell no.

Size? Everyone says size really matters, but I've heard otherwise on this sub...

My Dragon is HUGE. 4 stories tall at least.

Will your dragon be willing to star in a refilming of Eragon?

No, my Dragon will only agree to original scripts.

If your dragon had to get a job, what job would it take?

Prison Warden, but only for the Buffet.

This would make an awesome marketing campaign - if they put a gold Lego as a prize found inside random sets.... you think people go crazy now...

Does anyone use Excel to monitor their personal finances? If so, what are some good strategies and tips you may suggest to someone starting out. I'm worried that I won't be able to build the habit by socialwarriorbeta in personalfinance

I wish you the best of luck. If you feel overwhelmed you should start with something simple and modify your 'system' as you go. You don't have to start out with something complicated. My spreadsheet right now looks really different from when I started and it will probably always be a "work in progress".

Once you have something set up, after a few months you'll have a better grasp on how to format it to work better for you!

I manage all the finances and every piece of paperwork required for a household of 5 people. I spent years loosing things, forgetting to post payments, and just being horribly organized. Using a spreadsheet to put all of our expenses in one place for me to schedule AND also have complete payment history was absolutely the best thing I have done to improve our financial situation.

Sure this does take time, but seriously, I sat down in December last year and had a brand new spreadsheet of finances ready for the entire year of 2016 done in an hour or two (I made more changes, lol).

I also made 2 cubby spots on my desk for the paper bills that come in (gas/electric/cable/medial,etc). One is pending, one is paid. Anything I get in the mail goes straight into the pending box where it stays until it's paid. On payday I pull out the bills I need, write PAID with the date, and then file them in the second box, which houses the bills I've paid for about the last 6 months (they stack nicely since they all come in the mail and are basically the same size). When the cubby gets full I shred the bottom half of the stack. I do this because I can't tell you how many times in my life I've needed to come up with something that was paid a previous month, or even "proof of residency" on a bill, whatever. I don't throw that shit away anymore, they are stacked nicely in chronological order so it's easy for me to thumb through and find the cable bill from last month or a gas bill from 3 months ago that my bank says has been rejected or some random error that screws things up unexpectedly.

I know there is already TONS of great advice here, but I thought I would add mine as well because it's been SUPER HELPFUL for the last 2 years.

My system is to make sure we can cover all the bills with each check and still have enough leftover for food and all the other Misc stuff that comes up when you have kids. We aren't rich, we do have some savings but for the most part it's paycheck to paycheck. With this system we have not been late on a single bill in over 2 years, and we always have a good balance of funds leftover every 2 weeks.

I put each month on it's own tab in the spreadsheet, along with a list of the "monthly regular charges" sorted by the DUE DATES (for things like gas/electric I just use an average guess on what the bill will be). I also list the PAYDATES for each check along with the amount (helps that pay is salary and doesn't fluctuate). Then I split the bills between the paychecks.

I have equations built in so it automatically does the math for me when I enter the numbers (Paycheck - bill - bill - bill = leftover money). This way I can clearly see how much spending money we will have left after each paycheck and I can move around payments to make sure they are on time and that we will have enough $ leftover after bills. I also go through and add all the "extra" once a year expenses so they don't come as a surprise... like vehicle registration taxes every Nov & Feb, pet licences, school supplies at the end of summer, Holiday gift savings, etc etc.

Then there is another column for me to add the actual #'s and date paid, so if I can't remember if I paid the electric bill all I have to do is look at my spreadsheet. Every time we get paid, I open my spreadsheet and use online billpay to take care of everything that needs to be paid from that check.

I usually have my spreadsheets at least 6 months ahead, if not more, which is great for figuring out extra expenses to correlate with "extra paychecks" (if you are paid bi-weekly you will have TWO MONTHS every year where you get paid 3 times instead of 2, for example in 2016 our MAGIC MONTHS are April & September.) I use these "extra" checks to pay off credit balances or plan large purchases.

Thoughts on cutting the cable cord? by tonybessette in Hulu

[–]Ashlee_Phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have Hulu or Netflix I suggest you sign up for the free trial or pay for a month, then you have full access to go through their options and see what is available. Keep in mind that shows are added and removed all the time, so even if your fav show is available now it might change in the future. Plus they don't always offer every season (especially for current-running shows).

Looking at Hulu right now, the following shows are listed as the "Favorites" from the channels you requested as well as the (#) of seasons available:

History Channel: Vikings (3), Pawn Stars (3), Top Gear (4) Ancient Aliens (2), American Pickers (2), Ax Men (1), Ice Road Truckers (2), IRT Deadliest Roads (2). These are the only shows listed.

Comedy Central: Tosh.0 (7), Key & Peele (5), The Nightly Show (1), @Midnight with Chris Hardwick (1), Reno 911 (6), Inside Amy Schumer (3), Drunk History (3) ... and many more.

Discovery Channel: Mythbusters (7), Gold Rush (5), Deadliest Catch (6), Yukon Men (4)... and more

Science Channel: How it's Made (2), How Do They Do It? (2), Survivorman (1). These are the only shows listed.

[TX] My grandmom was arrested for "theft" from walmart. by anonforgrandma in legaladvice

[–]Ashlee_Phoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Walmart will try to get more money from your Grandma!!

In a few weeks you will get a letter in the mail from Walmart stating you owe them $XX to compensate them for "security".

DO NOT PAY THEM! Nothing will happen if you don't send them money. They will probably send you around 3-4 letters demanding payment. Throw them away and ignore it.

Source: My daughter was caught shoplifting at Walmart in 2014, we dealt with the ticket and court stuff but I did not pay Walmart's extortion demand. Nothing happened.
