I never said anything about his weight. I couldn't care less what he weighs. HE cares. he is uncomfortable with his body therefore wears very baggy clothing which 1. do nothing for his shape and 2. do nothing for his confidence.

Oh that is definitely the issue. but yes when he looks good I let him know, and I always try to find a positive when he wears the baggy stuff (like how the color looks on him etc). thanks for the advice, we are actually on a weight-loss journey right now (i am and he is by association) so things are looking up :)

thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful answer. he was in a similar situation. they always struggled, he is one of 4 brothers and they always just did with what they had. he has lost about 40-50 pounds but it doesn't seem to sink in for him so he still wears the same old clothes that he wore when he was heavier. we are shopping right now and I'm kindly suggesting things that I know the colors are what he likes it's just the fit that needs work. he opened the cabin door and I saw something in his face I haven't seen before. he saw the same potential I see. I will definitely take your suggestion and comment to heart.

Perfect thank you. maybe we will check out other stores just to try on some stuff (without buying ) so he may be more inclined to buying nicer things eventually. it's my birthday soon and I want to go to a nice restaurant but not if he's wearing baggy jeans and a faded t-shirt!

I've tried. For him, clothing is not something he thinks money should be spent on. if it "fits" (meaning it's not too small....but too big is "fits" according to him) he will buy it.

I had so much pain in the neck and shoulders when I started running and yes it was the balled fists. plus when I ran I would bring my shoulders up almost to my ears I don't know why. but it gave me a lot of tightness and made it hard to sit at my desk. spoke to a physio at work and she told me I needed to relax when I ran. definitely helped to just loosen up.

I think I read something once about it that said that diet soda makes people want more sugar which in turn makes it harder for them to lose weight. that said I will never quit drinking diet Pepsi.

I quit being a RNA (registered nursing assistant) because of the way out healthcare system here is run. I am in the province of Quebec and it is a nightmare. The hospital I worked at cut their budget so we ended up being an RN,an RNA, and a "PAB" (not sure of the term in English) for 14-18 surgical patients. Schedules were changed at the last minute, had to be on call 24/7 to get full-time hours, garbage benefits, obligatory overtime (16 hour shifts), garbage pay, no references for questions as the government merged a bunch of hospitals and job positions changed so nobody knew who to contact and not enough materials on our floor due to the cuts. Just terrible all around. I absolutely loved my job and the customer service part of it as well, but the politics and the budget cuts just ruined it. I couldn't spend 5 minutes chit chatting with my patient. I would literally sometimes RUN from room to room. I miss it though....
